  1. It hasn't been canceled but progress has been slow due to challenges IRL. Major Cooke and I are still working on it, we've been picking up pace recently. I'll try to speed up progress as much as I can.
  2. I've been quite busy with sprites lately. This sprite is a giant mechanical pennywise head known as the soul repository, it functions similarly to the icon of sin. Instead of skull cubes it fires pennywise spheres that spawn clown enemies. The souls are stored in the hair and transferred to the soul emitter at the forehead via the four "probes" connecting to the hair. Destroying the machine will reveal the exit to the final level where the player will face pennywise. The pennywise soul sphere:
  3. I stumbled across a megawad I started 15 years ago and have decided that I want to finally finish it. It was originally designed for doom2 but I've decided to use a mapinfo lump so it might eventually be zdoom only, I'm unsure how many ports support mapinfo. The megawad doesn't follow a particular theme or anything, just a random collection of levels. Some levels are not finished. All need to be modified for better gameplay and aesthetics. If anyone is interested in helping me give these levels more details, adjust gameplay, finish unfinished areas, ect just let me know via PM. Adding new graphics is allowed. This project is currently unnamed so if anyone has suggestions as to what to name this that would be appreciated, I'm really bad at naming things. I'll be making the work in progress publicly available and will try to update the file every few days or so. https://gofile.io/d/VET9ds (3/11/21) This project will require cc4-tex.wad. Screenshots:
  4. I finished the sprites for a fire animation plus multi-sprite explosion for the nuclear cannon (a BFG replacement) in HTC3.
  5. Here's a video of map 10, all the maps are still works in progress and I still have to add more sounds and whatnot but this will give everyone an idea of what this mod will be like. Sorry for the poor video quality, the file ends up looking like shit for some reason when I upload to youtube. I've finished a couple more enemies and scrapped the above chaingun and made a more normal looking machine gun instead.
  6. I'm almost finished doing sprites for a chaingun replacement. It took forever to get the barrel rotating to look right which is really difficult without 3d modeling. The whole sprite won't be visible on screen since I think I made it too big so the bottom 3rd probably won't be visible. It will use normal chaingun ammo instead of clown souls like most of the new weapons.
  7. This is a front view attack sequence w/ gib explosions for another clown ghoul I'm making for happy time circus 3. This one attacks by shedding its skin and flinging gibs everywhere when its target gets too close. It is unable to attack when it's reforming itself. It will also have a trailing spine behind it which I did for a similar enemy and that technique creates a cool 3d body effect. I might redo the spine and gibs depending how it looks in-game.
  8. I've been working on HTC3 again and have been working on graphics / mapping for a secret level featuring robot enemies. Here's a couple of WIP screenshots: Things still aren't ready for playtesting and there's still a lot of work to be done but I'm definitely making progress.
  9. I've been working on machine graphics lately and made some middle textures and a couple trim textures. Feel free to use them.
  10. I made some random machinery sprites for anyone to use.
  11. Here's a few more bone decor sprites.
  12. I made some animated skull and candle sprites for anyone looking for some new hell decor..
  13. I haven't messed around with mapping / modding too much for the last year due to a shifting of interests so if anyone is wondering about me, I'm not dead. I still map when I'm in the mood but I'm tired of old genres. Anything new relating to doom will probably be some kind of weird mod like happy time circus 2.

My current hobby that now mostly replaces doom mapping is painting. All my paintings are currently acrylic but I may start experimenting with oil. Most of the below paintings are done on cheap canvas panel and range from 8" X 10" to 12" X 16". I've started with landscapes but am now trying to shift more towards surrealism. I don't consider myself to be a serious painter yet so I don't use a lot of canvases. Eventually I may try selling stuff but I don't possess the interpersonal skills to sell myself so that will probably be a tragedy.

Another developing hobby of mine is electronics, mainly robotics, but I don't have anything worthy of showing off just yet. It seems at this point I have no interest in video games anymore so eventually I will probably stop mapping altogether. But for now I may still have a few more mods left in me.

    My favorite is first:

This was based on a reference photo that was found via google image search.

This one is nearly complete, the most recent here.

Wow, thanks for the positive replies. I will continue to paint and at least try to keep modding for doom as time allows. I must admit though, I am not awesome at everything. For example, I suck at getting girls. The more emphasis I place on creating things, the less emphasis I place on social activities. Maybe that will not always be the case but for now I will indulge on my strong desire to create.

After reading these positive responses I will try and hurry with the development of circus667.wad. After that I may release some single level wads but I must add the disclaimer that I'm buzzing like it's cool right now and I have some real life issues to address first so my actual ambitions may vary from that of my current state of mind. With that being said I will try my best not to disappoint the doom community as priorities dictate.

like the composition, but the instruments are like something from the SNES era. See if you can get some decent samples and it's a win.

What kind of instruments would you suggest? Replace with another kind of synth? Replace with a guitar sample?

I'm open to suggestions and the weather is shitty so I have all day to work on this.

      Very 80's horror flick.

  15. I've been making midis for a while now and I find them very limiting. I want to make "real" music now so I've decided to get a sythesizer and recording on to my computer. I'll be using Cakewalk and Acid Pro for recording and mixing.

I'm new to the world of sythesizers and don't know where to begin. Does anyone here have any experiences or advice to share?

Heh, I don't think Korg is going to be selling a synth that went out of production nearly 10 years ago. Actually, though..

      Not bad eh?
