For the minute there, I was thinking about Noid, but it doesn't seem like that.

I guess it's time to replay Touhou games again

White wolf, I think. I guess, it's custom made one too.

It would be easier to create new thread than go down to the lowest, forgotten parts of forum just to reply about favourite music. It's weird that 15-22 years old threads aren't mass locked to prevent bumps. Anyway, I'm mostly into darkwave/post punk/metal/rock these days. Depending on mood, you can also hear me blasting my favourite game soundtracks or going with ambient music.

what are you working on? I wanna see your wads.
Misty replied to everennui's topic in WAD Discussion
Thing is that new modern idgames review section is broken for almost 5 years and legacy site has comments and ratings closed. Anyone randomly encountering your project is quite low, unless they follow you around, check newest releases or seek something quick to play. By not making thread, you're robbing yourself from exposure. Of course, going silently is okay, but having thread at least gives people place to write something in it even if you're no longer around. -
What are some doom wads/mods that have not aged well?
Misty replied to Egyptian Guardian's topic in WAD Discussion
I'd say some Hell to Pay sprite replacements didn't age well. It looks goofy(or rather something that's done in 90's) these days and I rather see traditional sprites instead or something close to it. I imagine with tools we have these days, it wouldn't too hard to remake them. -

Kinda familiar face, but my memory isn't good to tell from where.

Looks like character from Touhou project.

I became good at rotating builder's grid and abusing those nice shapes regardless mapping format. Also, I became less picky over things that no one will see, except me. My math also improved since I learned how to do mapping, I consider it as big plus. Tho, lately, I don't feel much of motivation to open up builder, despite having nice, interesting ideas around for projects I kept on hold for few years. It feels like I'm doing same map with predictable visuals and encounters over and over again.

Any there any female Classic Doom With Commentary YouTubers?
Misty replied to Havok's topic in Doom General
I used to stream mapping without voice back in the day, but anxiety and feeling not really comfy got in my way, so I stopped. I might return someday, but first I need upgrade my hardware and work on my anxiety. -
Sure, there are many possibilities how environment can be influenced. You can pick up any planet, real or not or lots of them, or just one specific place.
-
Make a serious map where you explore UAC influence to environment and planet they pick up for their experiments. I'm curious how it would turn out.

Soon there will be rule for idgames uploads: "No AI generated maps", just how we have it for oblige/slige generated levels.

textures/textureX problem + custom things dont show up in UDB
Misty replied to Kuu's question in Editing Questions
It won't help much with resources that mangled around, besides I remember saying that one should never edit your resource file with doom builder open. I guess it remains true with Ultimate Doom Builder. Directories are simple, you make folder called "maps" where you place your map wads, "textures" where you place textures, "sprites" where you place sprites. I'd suggest look in recent gzdoom releases like Breakpoint or Elementalism for pk3 structure. -
textures/textureX problem + custom things dont show up in UDB
Misty replied to Kuu's question in Editing Questions
Alrighty, I gave a quick glance and there's some things I noticed instantly: You don't need reinclude doom2 textures, flats, patches and sprites again. Especially if you don't work with heavily modified palette that renders those assets terribly without it, something like Ancient Aliens palette. Consolidate your sprites under SS_START and SS_END lumps, textures under PP_START and PP_END lump and flats under FF_START and FF_END. Doom 2 iwad could be used as example how to organise your custom stuff, it looks tidy and easy to follow. Alternatively, custom textures/flats can be included in TX_START and TX_END if used UDMF. Same with other text lumps like Decorate or credits - it can be merged in one text file. Other good method is use directories. One TEXTURE1 and PATCHES lump per one project, if you need one you can take it from base archive. Only textures are going here, no flats or sprites. Other thing to note here, move sprite marker somewhere where sprites reside, I'll spoiler it: Honestly, I'd redo this anew, like keeping maps intact, but reorganizing stuff in clean way using Doom 2, other people projects as internal example how to organise internal stuff inside tidy and clean way or putting files in directories and making it pk3. -

I can't download, because google drive asks permission to get this file, do you have alt download link, like dropbox? -

Can you fetch your texture pack, I'd like to take a look how it's organised. For future reference, you can put textures between TX_START and TX_END lumps for UDMF stuff. -
My laptop at this point is 10-11 years old, thinking for the new replacement once I'm done with studies.

this was meant for Caffeine Injection set, but I scrapped, feeling that I'm taking too much time with project. Maybe next time, when humanity's ready for the second batch.

I'd say rename to 2023 or just return to tradition and use 1,2,3... numbering, instead killing thread each year. This one didn't even reach 100 pages yet.

Some mods - cosmetic or gameplay changing aren't compatible with each other, making brutal mods compatible with doomguy 150 skins mod, you need to do plenty of work, like add/edit new and old sprites, code and so on. That's really huge overtaking, time consuming and no one wants to bother for that reason alone.
