  1. The term triple A has become so cheesy and watered down in recent years and automatically comes with certain negative notions like high (unrealistic) expectations from the audience and relentless monetization tactics from the company side. One could even say that the mainstream gaming Industry has become too big for it's own good, even bigger or on par with Hollywood and the movie industry in some respects. A new Spiderman game is in essence not only a new Spiderman movie but also much more expensive to make then the movie itself. It would do the industry good to take a step back instead of looking to maximise profit in every apect. As it stands, the triple A level of games take so much resources and money to make that under the current economic model I'm not shure how long that would be sustainable unless games are priced 100,- standard price. There is also alot wrong with the general wealth allocation as fuckfaces like Bobby Kottick rake in the billions while the regular developers are shoved to the side, thrown to the lions or just make a very small percentage of the profit. Those CEO's have the power to pull the plug any time they want, whenever they see that the numbers are not to their liking and only care about pleasing shareholders. As to the question itself at hand, I can get equally as excited for an indie as for a triple A. Furthermore, from all the recent game shows the one game that I happened to have wishlisted turns out to be an indie title. In conclusion, despite the relentless capitalist and predatory pressures surrounding game development, gems and beautiful worlds are still being created. Even though it's not the right formula and there's lot that can be said that is wrong there is still alot for me to still be excited about. And that gives me hope..
  2. I've had played Wolfenstein 3D before which next to the difficulty mode also gives you the face of the main character. The higher the difficulty the more bloody the face and the lower the more babyer. Next to that that alot of games had difficulty modes like that so it was easy to know.
  3. I think I'll just reserve my opninion for when the game actually releases for real. They've already done Hell on Mars and they've done Hell on Earth so it seems they're now taking inspiration from post Classic Doom titles like Quake, Heretic and Hexen as they came out after the original Doom games at the time and carry alot of Dooms DNA in them. I do wish the best of luck to whoever does the music for this one though, hope we don't get a Mick 2.0 scenario post-release. (I'm not even shure if that was even resolved further down the line though). Regardless, I'll see it when I play it. People seem way too triggerhappy and like to jump to conclusions way too fast and I constantly have to remind myself that gamers in general are one of the most toxic audiences there are in this industry and the truth lies usually in the middle, not to one side nor completely to the other.
  4. He's just good with his hands.
  5. Your soul tells me otherwise.
  6. A little zinc with a bit of copper and iron.
  7. With the exception of classic Doom or certain retro shooters I've generally outgrown games with this type of gameplay. It's too one dimensional and flat for me to get any real satisfaction from it, I will probably get it once its 5,- but will likely get bored from playing it after the first level and switch to another game. I'm looking much more forward to Silent Hill 2 then this right now.
  8. @Scuba Steve I had put it on private for some time as I was just feeling so stressed at the time and wanted to take some time off to be able to focus on other projects. I'm doing tippy top again and the link is now public.
  9. So Doomguy is going to travel back to the Middle Ages to learn more about the origin of the dark urdork lords during the following events. * The Fall of the Roman Empire / Barbarian Invasions * Justinian's Plague * The Rise of Islam and the Abbasid Kaliphate * Viking Invasions * Crusades * Mongol Invasions * 100 Year War * Black Death * Vlad The Impaler * Fall of the Byzantine Empire * Reconquista Sounds like a good excuse to shoot stuff with black metal music in the background.
  10. " My house, my rules." You'll have to abide by the rules of the owner. Unless you hack the house.
  11. Some more detailing.
