  3. The guy last visited the forum in February, unlikely he'll see this. Nonetheless, dunno what all the fuss other users were making is all about when in the 90's we had Simpsons Doom and Batman Doom.
  4. I've been playing this a lot recently. Finished the three first episodes and I'm midway trhough the fourth. A lot of great maps in here. I've been helping finish the Amalgoom project, and I can definitely see why the previous lead even commented on this thread. This was probably his inspiration for the idea of mixing maps from Doom and Doom 2, not because it was the goal of this project from the start, but because by mixing the aesthetics of a map from episode 1 with a map from episode 3, it is clear that there would be a certain reference to the things we associate with each episode. I can't wait to beat this and go to Switcheroom 2. Too bad this isn't on the wiki yet!

I'd recommend this one, then. Really good with a surprise in the end.
  13. What are you usin to make these? What is your goal? Do you know how to work with the limited palette of Doom? These are important questions. I agree with Raith138, the sharp contrast doesn't give much the vibe of water, but of things moving over a still surface. Have you made any other textures before? Edit: I like the buttons a lot, though!
  14. In my case it's more other games, but also books. I have a literary project of sorts in store. Being a Doom 2 fanatic, combat for me is paramount. Still, most of my maps have some sort of narrative, as it raises the standards of a map a thousand times. The ones I've made purely focused on combat are the weakest, and I tend not to like them at all, except maybe for the homages to classic maps.
  15. Separate flags for each difficulty from 1 to 5. Would allow better balance for Nightmare without compromising the other difficulties and vice versa.
  16. @Sikreci, can you post the latest version of your map here? I reckon some people would like to give it a shot after the video came out. Someone already sent me a DM asking for it.

  19. Just wanted to update you, I've been drained by the ammount of effort needed to finish the project I'm leading. I'll get to this eventually, don't want to give any feedback that sucks.
