Thank you very much, I'll take a look at it. I think that does it for this topic, I just came back here since the subjects were closely related.

RAMP 2023 - Rabbit's All-Comers Mapping Project [RELEASED!]
DoomGappy replied to DavidN's topic in WAD Releases & Development
I just wanted to know if the quacking cyberdemon has been released somewhere as a standalone enemy. Funniest thing I've seen in years. -
Thanks, I've played Boomedit.wad recently to be aware of the capabilities of the boom format, and it's really surprising how much is available, and how few I've seen used. Could you recommend me some wads that use these tricks efficiently? I was really impressed by that door that turns on the light. Thanks again for the detail in these answers.

I like it! Thanks, Narancia.

I'll mess around with the map a bit more and then post it. It's actually a bit embarassing because I'm the head of the project but still couldn't solve that problem. Pretty new to mapping at all. About the tutorial thread, I still haven't actually published it because I'm still a very recent mapper, I just learn a lot by teaching others (I'm a teacher after all). Thanks for the clarification, it will help me a lot with the writing. Thanks for all the help, stabbey.

I forgot to thank you for this. Still haven't fixed said HoM, but I still haven't finished the map, so there's still time. Could I send you the file later if I don't find it myself? I am writing a little tutorial for absolute beginners and I'd like to know more about the particularities of linedefs like this. Which ones absolutely need tagging, and which ones don't? For example, do lifts also need tagging in Boom based source ports or they behave like doors (I mean lifts where the sector is adjacent to the linedefs)? What are the differences in tagging between vanilla, boom and zdoom based ports? Since my thread is for absolute beginners, I am writing it based on boom, but I want to encourage the best possible approach for most compatibility (and also learn the best one that will work on most ports). Also, is there any practical difference between the D1, DR types and the G1, GR types? Thanks in advance.

I think I'll go with this. It loops around a bunch so that it can look "Organic" on stream and not really a pattern. Thanks a lot for the eyebrows, I would be completely deadpan otherwise.

Damn, plums. Thank you. That looks amazing! I will definitely use this and try to make some more sprites if possible. I'm thinking of starting streaming and also making videos about doom, this will come in handy.

That's amazing, I'll take a look at it.

Somebody should start a new project for that.

I made this for my streams but since Doom is all about sharing, I'm posting it here. Happy fragging! Zip File: Stream.7z

I made this for streaming doom, and since Doom is all about sharing, I'm posting it here. Just set it up on OBS, put your webcam where doomguy would be and have fun. I don't know if this is the correct thread, but this is definitely a Doom pic. Zip file: Stream.7z

I'd like to see what the Casalis could get out of doom with modern tools. I found out recently that Dario plays doom maps on youtube sometimes. I don't know, I wasn't here to see it in reall time, but they did influence doom modding and mapping incredibly.

I always thought tnt's cobweb textures sucked, so I made these: But when I convert them to the doom palette I understand why they suck in the first place. Doom has no transparent pixels so they all get converrted to pure white and look like this: Is there a way to circumvent this? I thought about making them png only, but that would mean it wouldn't work on some ports, right?

Box Doom - Community Project [Slots Filled]
DoomGappy replied to randomsounds01's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Thanks for your work, @Halfblind. -
Definitely marble and blood. Its an aesthetic that I dig too much. I love the gray and green of the original doom marbles and the way the red blood contrasts with them. I love how the marble feels royal and the blood feels hellish and sacrificial. I also am a big fan of wood and metal, and I want to make a map only using wood5. On the other hand, my least favorite theme is tech base, and I suck at designing them. Edit: My favorite marble map is Dead Temple from the 1994 Tune Up Project.

Never thought of that, now I gotta make a dead giraffe using this somewhere. -
Doom HD Sprites and Textures (UPDATE 14.2.24)
DoomGappy replied to Marcelus's topic in Mods & Resources
These look amazing. Are they doom paletted? -
I unfortunately don't know what that is.
