  1. The bonus maps for this version are terrible, but the port overall was pretty good for the time (and is still not bad if you're used to the MS-DOS original's look and framerate). It was a great bonus for those of us that bought the Collector's Edition of DOOM 3, or got the standalone expansion pack later down the line. Keep in mind perspective is somewhat important here--the best console version of DOOM we had up to that moment in time was the PS1 version, and the XBOX one was a big step up for a lot of people.
  2. Cool story, dude. https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/142061-sigil-ii-episode-6/
  3. I did UV last night and it was definitely rough at points. Some parts were much easier than others. Of the toughest, I'd say the first map belongs there, along with the last couple where the ammo starvation got pretty real. It's quality stuff overall, but UV was tedious. Definitely start on a lower difficulty.
  4. Going to be toying around with some random DOOM II wads over the next few hours. Stream link: https://youtube.com/live/o1YTwUCVkOA
  5. I got DOOM on iOS when it first came out back in the day. It was a miserable experience with its touch controls. Same with Wolfenstein 3D. Nowadays? It's probably pretty decent with a separate gamepad, or some kind of gamepad dock/attachment.
  6. Ran all the way through TNT in one sitting the other night.
  7. Nightdive remasters of these games is exactly what I wanted from the acquisition. Here's to hoping they happen. Heretic in particular could do well to be introduced to a whole new audience. Since it was only ever relegated to computers, a lot of console players missed out on it.
  8. I am about fifteen years late on the first Iron Man, but I watched it the other night and enjoyed it quite a bit. It holds up all these years later.
  9. There's a lot of them, but for starters I'll drop Super Pitfall on the NES. It's jank AF, but I learned it a couple years ago and managed to work my way all the way through it with the help of a guide. It was actually pretty fun learning its quirks and various ways around the traps throughout the cavern.
  10. Yeah, I can see why this was never finished. It runs terribly even by GBA FPS standards, and that's without enemies on screen. It's impressive for sure (reminds me of Ashen that would come later on the N-Gage), but it's doubtful they would have been able to make a playable game out of this.
  11. DOOM 32X Resurrection got further updates over these last couple of weeks. I ended up running through the latest version last night. The Cyber Demon and Spider Mastermind have been added in.
