  1. This was done specifically to allow players to modify levels or create their own level packs. When Wolfenstein 3D took off, people were editing the base file, making it very hard to un-mod their games when they wanted to play vanilla. Id specifically separated the level stuff into WAD files to allow players to edit, create, or replace level stuff without effecting the actual base game, so they could always "un-mod" it. There's a good section about it in the book Masters of Doom.
  2. Sorry to revive an old thread, but I was trying out multiplayer monsters in a singleplayer run, and it makes you respawn like you would in a regular coop game. Is there a way to have it on coop monsters while also having single-player rules? If not, I might just use something like Doom Builder and just go through the maps and tweak the monster spawns so coop monsters spawn on UV and non-coop monsters that arent on multiplayer aren't on UV.
  3. Okay so I just checked it quickly while I was thinking about it, and it does remember that you're in multiplayer mode if you run through multiple maps. I even saved a game right before an exit, quit out, and reloaded it, and it still remembered it was multiplayer. Thanks! Now to figure out how Im gonna deal with a Spiderdemon right in the beginning of Plutonia with Brutal Doom... xD
  4. Alright, I'll try that the next time I boot up Plutonia. Thank you.
  5. Maybe this is a dumb question, but it sounds like you can only do this by using the console to load maps in GZDoom, so does that mean a full 32 level playthrough with multiplayer monsters isnt possible on GZDoom?
  6. Can I do that in GZDoom? If so, how? Im guessing enter that into the config file somewhere?
  7. I wasn't sure if I should put this in WADs or general, but I was wondering where I can find the base game WADs with multiplayer monsters, or if it's more of a source port thing. I've heard of a few specific WADs that did this, but after the recent Decino video about multiplayer monsters, it sounds like it's not just the specific WADs. I'm specifically looking to play Plutonia, that sounds like fun with Multiplayer monsters.
