FRONGO (Version 2.2) IS NOW ON IDGAMES AND DOOMSHACK, WHOOOOOOOOOO! Oddly enough though, when I went to upload frongo.zip to doom.dogsoft.net there was already a file called frongo.zip uploaded with the downloads disabled on it. Now maybe this is just a coincidence, but frongo.zip was uploaded to dogsoft on 01-27-24 21:39:05. Heres the thing though. Unless I'm having an old-person moment right now, I have NO recollection of uploading my megawad to dogsoft. Maybe this is just a coincidence and there's another wad out there that's also called frongo. I'll never know though since downloads are disabled on the file.

Welcome one and all to this here Deathmatch megawad! FRONGO : The Realms of Deathmatch is a 32-map Deathmatch megawad created through the collaborative effort of two best friends, MannerKing and Burktross. This wad was started in 2020 and was worked on off-and-on since then. We got the idea to create FRONGO when we and another friend of ours were playing the DWANGO wads for the first time. We thought those wads were such a blast that we should make our own megawad inspired by the DWANGO wads. The name FRONGO comes from the name of our clan combined with the -ngo part of DWANGO. 32 Maps of Deathmatch goodness await you and your friends, I hope you all enjoy this wad! ============================== DETAILS: ! I WILL EVENTUALLY UPLOAD FRONGO TO IDGAMES AND OTHER SITES BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE THE WAD IS IN ITS FINAL FORM BEFORE I DO SO. ! FRONGO was created in the Boom: Doom2(Doom format) using Ultimate Doom Builder. There are 32 maps in total starting with MAP01 and ending with MAP32. All the maps with the exception of MAP31 are original levels. MAP31 is an edited version of DWANGO5.wad's bestdml1 #14 map. If I recall, all we really did was add some health pickups and shotguns. Custom content such as music and textures have been credited to the best of our ability in the credits.txt file. I managed to credit most of the music but there are some songs that we just simply forgot the names of. If anyone can remember a song that I did not credit then be sure to tell me so I can add it to the credits.txt file. In terms of specific settings or rules, I tested FRONGO with Odamex, ZDaemon, and Zandronum with no issue. The only thing I would say is that jumping and crouching should not be allowed as the maps were not made with those features in mind. ============================== Screenshots: DOWNLOAD LINK(S): DOOMWORLD: frongo.zip IDGAMES: HERE DOOM.DOGSOFT.NET: TBA DOOMSHACK: HERE UPDATE NOTES: I hope you all enjoy the wad, and be sure to leave feedback below!

Hermeticism | Heretic Episode in Development
MannerKing posted a topic in WAD Releases & Development
Whats up dudes and dudettes, today I'd like to reveal a bit about a Heretic episode I am working on. Hermeticism is going to be a 9-map Heretic wad that will take up the E1M1-E1M9 slots. After making my vanilla compatible wad F.O.B I was deciding whether or not I should make another vanilla compatible wad. I had a lot of fun making F.O.B and I would love to do something like that again. However, I decided I would try something I had never really tried before which was making Heretic maps. I was originally testing my wad with Chocolate Heretic but I had this odd issue where when I used a custom skybox there would be a yellow line across the skybox. I had seen some old forum threads about this issue and it doesn't seem there is a way to fix it as far as I know unless you use other source ports. I am currently testing Hermeticism with DSDA-Doom and it works just fine. I would like to keep you guys updated on my progress and post screenshots when I can. So far I only have E1M1 and E1M2 completed, wish me luck! ============================================================== <I will post more details about the wad in this section when it is completed> SCREENSHOTS: -
Nah I don't mind at all man, looks awesome.

Good evening everyone, today I'd like to introduce you to my first vanilla-compatible Doom 2 wad. F.O.B is a 6-map vanilla compatible single-player wad that also comes with a dehacked file. I got inspired to make this wad from watching Doomkid's youtube videos on vanilla compatibility. I started making Doom maps back in 2016 and I haven't stopped since. I looked at this wad as a nice challenge to my mapping skills. I had mapped with formats like UDMF for years so mapping in the Doom format was a nice change of pace. I enjoyed every second of the process and hope you enjoy this wad! Features Include: - Custom Sprites & Textures - Custom Music - Custom Sounds - An ENDOOM screen - Vanilla Compatibility - 5 single-player maps including a bonus 6th map This wad has been tested with: - DOSBOX - Chocolate Doom - Crispy Doom - Woof - DSDA-Doom - PRBoom-Plus I would appreciate all the feedback that I can get. I definitely want to make more wads like this in the future so the feedback here will affect me greatly. I hope you all enjoy your time playing F.O.B! Screenshots: Updates: Get the wad here: F.O.B.zip
