what are your favorite/least favorite doom enemies?
Immorpher replied to Green561's topic in Doom General
Least favorite - Chaingunners: They can really nickle and dime you out of health and from a far distance too. The only way to deal with them is to get them before their reaction time wears off, other than the normal hide behind a wall. I much prefer arachnotrons as you can use some skill in dodging their attacks. Most favorite - Doom 64 Lost Souls: I am not lying! These enemies are agents of chaos, so you have to think on your feet. Unlike the chaingunners you can dodge them. They also nerf the super shotgun too, to give room for other weapons. In fact the best weapon against them is the chaingun. They bring a needed variety to the game in my opinion. -
This pack contains 33 new sky graphics for the Doom 64 Remaster. All skies were created by Rhodenris and were made Doom 64 compatible by Immorpher. Load the ExampleWAD.wad into the Doom 64 Remaster to see how these skies work in-game. Open the WAD in a program like Slade to see how these skies can be setup for use on your maps. Included are two folders of the sky graphics: LoRes folder contains skies compatible with Doom 64 Remaster, and the HiRes folder contains higher resolution skies if you wish to use them in another engine. If you use these skies in your map set be sure to credit Rhodenris! Your scariest bug/insect story/stories?
Immorpher replied to Patrick_Plays_Doom's topic in Everything Else
Lemme tell ya bugs are the protein of the future! Anyway here's an interesting Doom 64 Remaster bug @Twilightsoul1 found when playing Doom 64. Kinda creepy in a way! This is the first time I ever seen this happen and I have never seen it since. https://www.twitch.tv/twilightsoul1/clip/WealthyCogentGaurSmoocherZ-EP6esuA97QYIgx7K -

I consider an Imp to be one of the weakest enemies, not only in terms of health, but also its capabilities. Thus I root for it as an underdog! I have seen an Imp even beat a cyberdemon once, at some steps which caused the cyberdemon to get blockmap bugged. I seen it in Doom 64 but here it is in classic Doom:

Have you done any challenge runs of the IWADs?
Immorpher replied to DoomGappy's topic in Doom General
We got a couple Doom 64 challenge runs! First we got a challenge to get through the IWAD, on the hardest difficulty, fast monsters, pistol starting, with no mid-level saves: We recently discovered that there is one difficulty higher than hardest via command line. So that will be a new challenge. Now we also have a challenge called BG8, which uses corruption cards (that give enemies various boosts). Each level enemies get 8 new permanent cards, so they quickly become very challenging as you progress. To compensate its on the easiest difficulty. The challenge is to see how far you can get, I think the furthest anyone has gotten is 11 levels in before its too hard or the cards break the game. However the Lost Levels seems very do-able! -
I want to win it too!!

Hate to bump it again. But now these functionalities seem to be working for me again? Not sure how but its nice!

Yes! I can think of 4 lost media off my head. 1) My very first original MIDI. It wasn't great, but it was heavy and moody. It was metal with like timpani and choir. My style hasn't really changed all that much in fact haha. But it was rough and I wish I still had it to show people, so people can hear my very rough beginning. I shared it around like over 20 years ago via messengers of the time to friends. It may exist on someone's dead computer perhaps, who knows! 2) My first website called "The Terra X". I would have it hosted on Geocities, Tripod, and other places, all depending on how much space and how few ads they would do. It had all kinds of weird red and black giger-esque imagery with plenty of flame bars. I even had some original characters in some sort of hellish universe on it too. Plus it had other things I was into like video game stuff and wrestling. I spinned it off into a "Terranity" site with weird cultish stuff on it; I cant even remember what I was thinking of at the time. I had it backed up on a CD, but I havent seen that CD in over a decade, so I have no clue where it has gone. I did some internet searches of it but I didnt even see it in the internet archive. 3) My first map was an age of empires 2 4-player deathmatch map. The map design was very basic and symmetrical, so nothing cool about that. But I was proud of the scripting I put on it. I only tested it online like once or twice. 4) When I was a young teen I had a notebook, and in it I was creating a universe for a future game. Most of it was a knock off of Super Metroid but with some doom weapons and such in it. I spent a few years drawing in it and there's a few photos of me with it. But alas I havent seen that notebook in over a decade either.

Glad to see this out now! :D -
Typically I will post on niche topics even within the Doom community. But the website has been somewhat broken for me for a while. I have a hard time time keeping up with everything, so I used to search for niche topics that I missed. Well now that is broken for me, it won't show any recent posts. Also "Unread Content" is broken too (after I accidentally marked the site as read a while back), so I don't get to see the small topics through there anymore either. So the only topics I can randomly stumble across now is mostly the most popular ones like this. I think that would get any topic that entices people to respond (whether good or bad is irrelevant) gets seen, and all the niche stuff I like is harder to find. It is a similar problem that Facebook had where the most popular rage inducing topics ended up floating to the top. I have noticed recently, YouTube has been recommending me a lot of small channels which I like, though so its not all "doom" and "gloom" across the internet. I do hope that the topic search and unread content functionality can have a return though! I bet its something related how topic data is stored via dates.
