Cool! Thanks for the help! And this tool will be very usefull... especially because SLADE is somewhat buggy and hysterical when it comes to flats
-
A few questions... how does it determine if a picture is a flat or a texture? and does it convert some random image format accordingly? what is the purpose of "lock.json"? where do .deh files belong, in assets?

Everyone should speed map: what I learned from 30 minutes and 25 monsters
CBM replied to Dusty_Rhodes's topic in Doom General
LOL! Well I guess it could be more fun if it was somehow possible to turn off the default air requirements for swimable sectors in UDMF maps.. I didn't catch the missing textures. I may fix it if I can find a way to avoid the air thing (maybe a rad suit? I will have to test it) EDIT - fixed version for those who might wish to try it (missing textures fixed - I hope and tons of rad suits added - they also work as diving suits it seems... atleast for a while) dive-into-e1m1_fix.rar -
Winamp website updated, seeks beta testers for new version
CBM replied to Some1NamedNate's topic in Everything Else
nice. winamp has always been my favorite mp3 player - also the first one I've ever used -

I'm about to add this beauty to my monster roster in After Dawn, the first non 40k addition ... and it could very well become one of my favorite monsters! Its a fully animated Quake 3 player model armed with a plasmagun also originally made for Quake 3... I plan on having it stand-in for Arachnotrons: I may compile alternate versions of this monster that have different weapons... like super shotgun for example

Did early (1993-1996) category "B" shooters ever had a chance?

Never tried nightmare but dark forces was pretty nice. There are so many classic games that could be remade in ZDOOM :-) -

Thanks for playing, for the kind words and for the suggestions :-) I could try to make another version of the map and post it again. EDIT: here is a version with the suggested changes, making it a bit more challenging to complete than before: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CPMHdBaCn3K6jw1CZNQ1M_AMGr-Poi2D/view?usp=sharing -
Any Toughs about the Saints Row Reboot? (super offtopic)
CBM replied to Dr. DiegO's topic in Everything Else
Guess not. But either way, the gangs are goofy in the saints row games and they will either be less goofy or more goofy in a reboot. Also they can hardly become more bland. So I don't see how they can mess up the reboot. I don't think they can mess up an open world game nomatter what they do. -
[CP] Request for help with Doom1 E1 Open World.
CBM replied to rescue86k's topic in WAD Releases & Development
you could still keep it udmf if you want to... I have alot of experience putting MD3 monsters in to GZDoom and I have a vast collection of MD3 monsters (Quake 3 player models) many more than just the 40k ones I've been working on for my After Dawn project however, they suck out more performance and your open world map is already on the heavy side due to the sheer size -

CBM replied to Dr. DiegO's topic in Everything Else
I really liked the saints row games ... however I guess some crazy SJW fantasy world reboot of it could prove hilarious... if done right - imagine all the in-game hardcore crime gangs running around in dresses and trying to talk to you about saving the planet and other weird stuff like that? -
(Community Resource) Doom E1 Open World Map
CBM replied to rescue86k's topic in WAD Releases & Development
I like the map overall. If you need some sprite spaceships its possible to try to makes sprites from the 3d spaceships. The way you combine all the doom 1 e1 maps in to a vast area like that is amazing and very inspiring. tools og tutorials that I've found about this (I havent tried it though) http://news.hiperia3d.com/2009/04/cheap-soft-create-2d-sprites-from-3d.html https://gametemplates.itch.io/3d2sprite https://opengameart.org/forumtopic/how-to-make-a-2d-isometric-spritesheet-from-a-3d-model-using-blender -
If you want a 3D version of that particular type of glass cannon, then check out Genetech by Enjay.

ROTT, Blake Stone, Catacomb Abyss and The Terminator: Future Shock were all great games and I've enjoyed them all. I never tried any of the other wolf based games though... like corridor 7 and what not. Is there a complete list of games based on the wolf engine? -
I like the tentacle monster, tentacle barrier, tesla coil, shark, shark with laser and hellrose from realm667 as well as all the pirate monsters from pirate doom

Angry Quilt 2 - for Ultimate Doom (Development Thread)
CBM replied to MidnightMage's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Same here. I fell so ashamed that I didn't catch the bugs and that it was so confusing to navigate my square. I don't recall moving anything but my last minute changes atleast removed some confusion hopefully and simplified things so the risk of more errors have hopefully been greatly reduced. I named the fort and also added a subtle signature by writing 'starfleet' on the carpet in the baron fort plus added some hopefully helpful writing in various places in my square -
ah ok, well still hilarious IMO

Angry Quilt 2 - for Ultimate Doom (Development Thread)
CBM replied to MidnightMage's topic in WAD Releases & Development
here is the fix.. I tested in GZDoom and CrispyDOOM but please test it as well to make sure I haven't missed something... again :-/ AngryQuilt2_fix.rar also please rename to AngryQuilt2 once its tested and verified to work so it can be reuploaded to the idgames archive I tested it in crispy doom, changes: - no more teleports - switch labels - somewhat more logic switch assignment - no more secrets - doors can be activated if they look like doors this time, some doors have switches for remote opening as well as being able to function on their own
