I got back into Doom in June of 2019. Before I made a Doomworld account, I wrote about my discoveries (under the handle "The Demons") in The AV Club's Gameological community: Every friday their "open thread" article yielded the floor and let people talk about all sorts of games down in the comments section, and I posted several reviews there over the span of a year as I chronicled my formative experiences with this art form.
