  1. I would have pushed hard for not keeping the ugly tan brown gloves on doomguy! Also, the super shotgun idea was super cool, I would've tried to come up with more alternative slot weapons. That also means I would've argued hard to make "Doom 2" an expansion for Doom and instead keep developing a better, bigger, different Doom 2, probably proposing going into a more Raven-influenced route with hubs and inventory, so to not step into Quake's territory.
  2. Been playing through og Hexen with this and must say, I'm impressed! I've always thought Hexen suffered from having VERY boring weaponry, and sometimes I kinda get a bit overwhelmed with mods like Walpurgis (which I love so much tho <3) that add a lot of extra stuff. I specially wanted something more vanilla+ to play through the original Hexen campaign but having actual fun and not just being annoyed to death. This was a perfect fit! Tysm! EDIT: Forgot to mention, this pairs SUPER well with Gun Bonsai, LegenDoom Lite and MK's Champions!
  3. Hi there! I hope this is an acceptable place to ask about something related to the linux flatpak release of crispy-doom (I don't even know if you @fabian are the one maintaining that so, super sorry in advance!). Basically not a biggie, everything works great but I would like to know if there is a way to re-bind keys in crispy-strife and the other non-doom games (crispy-heretic, crispy-hexen, etc.), the same way it can be done through the crispy-doom setup tool? The way Flatpak seems to install stuff kinda makes it difficult to find config files too (at least for a total newb like me lmfao). Again so sorry if this is not an appropiate place to ask this, and tysm in advance! (I'm on linux mint 21) EDIT: Found a way to do this! I edited the crispy-setup launch shortcut properties so it runs the setup for the game I want to. Right there where it says "--command=crispy-doom-setup", just replace doom with whatever game you want to run the setup program for: /usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=crispy-(doom/strife/hexen/heretic)-setup io.github.fabiangreffrath.Doom :p
  4. Hey! I'm super sorry to bother here, I just thought this is probably the best place to ask about something that seems kinda like one of those noob dumb problems haha. So I love the launcher, and I've been using it to play crispy doom (flatpak install) on an old laptop using linux mint 21. But whenever I go to save the game, crispy doom crashes and I get this error message: I've asked around other forums and places but so far haven't been able to fix this. Everything else works perfectly, I can even launch it with mods and different wads. Any clue what am I doing wrong? :c tysm in advance!
  5. Doom Runner is kind of the best launcher out there imho. It works for ZDoom based ports, aswell as with Chocolate/Crispy ports and PrBoom+. I've been using it for GZDoom and Doom Retro to play all sorts of mods and wads for a long while now. https://github.com/Youda008/DoomRunner
  6. That last trailer is sexy a f! So, I'm so excited for this project! And I know at this point an ElderJam "review" is kind of irrelevant but I just wanted to encourage you to keep going in my own way so here are my thoughts on the old ElderJam. Warning: Quality is poop/potato lmfao Cheers and good hunting!
  7. Yeah I started re-playing this the other day with my little sister. Hope this project is not dead I'm in love with it!!!
  8. +1 APOCACLIPS, it's a limit removing 32 speed maps megawad that was made by the author in just 3 days... and it's actually pretty good! It manages to strike a genius balance between shitposting bs and good level design. "Came for the shitpost, stayed for the challenge" kinda thingie.
  9. Alright, I played half a dozen of maps on UV and must say I'm not mentally prepared for this level of BS right now. And I don't mean the *bad* type of BS, it's actually crazy fun type of BS maps. The wad so far manages to strike a really comic balance between shitpost mapping and an actual semblance of level design. I want to see how it progresses on the later levels, as I imagine your workflow becoming eventually more sanity-deprived with each consecutive map you completed haha. Maybe I'll make a gameplay vid/showcase, cheating a little bit ofcourse. But I'll do that tomorrow, rn the APOCACLUPSOS has beaten me it seems. Cheers on your release! edit: Btw I tested this on Nugget Doom (Woof! fork) and worked flawlessly on complevel 9 (boom compatible) at least on the maps I just played. Not that it's super important but you might want to know.
  10. You're sick in both the positive and negative meaning of the word lmfao. Downloading and playtesting. Hopefully I can survive the apocaplipse... apolaclip... apoc.. lapit... *shuts ups and -file APOCACLIPS.wad*
  11. + Ashes 2063 Afterglow (sequel to original chapter) is a TC that is basically a masterpeice of an old-school fps. Post-apocalyptic mad max meets build engine games stuff. So good. + Abysm 2, another amazing TC that deserves AT LEAST a runners up and way more attention imho. Darksouls/Diablo meets doom/hexen, super well paced, consistent work.
  12. [yt]6vc9Mz2tfHM[/yt] EDIT: ^yt tag not working!? halp!? xd
  13. IDK if games that are not videogames count, in that case I'm reaaaally deep into the Dungeon World tabletop rpg as a regular GM and rules-modder, have been for years no end. Otherwise, Tetris (nullpomino) and World of Warcraft (vanilla/classic or Ascension). I can even play both with the correct addons lol
