Do you ever think that Doom is "repetitive" for you?
CherryPoptartzzz replied to Gore's topic in Doom General
I don't think repetitive gameplay is bad per se, rather how you approach it. I really enjoy the gameplay of classic doom as simple and repetitive as it is yet I always get burnt out if I play for nonstop. Back in 2020 when quarantine started id pretty much exclusively play doom every day, and there was nothing stopping me because I didn't have to go to school and I didn't have many other games to play, and that combination of nothing happening in my life and constantly doing the same thing over and over would always get me burnt out after 2 weeks. I love doom a lot but I think I just need more balance in my life, having too much repetition regardless of what it is just burns me out, and that's less to do with repetition in gameplay but more so with life in general If you play the same game every single day over and over and don't have much else going on in your life then what's the point, if I have all the time to do something then it loses all value for me, and not that you necessarily need to constantly playing or doing something new all the time but I think having some balance in your life in general makes you value things much more. I always enjoy playing games more when I come home from being out all day or whatever, it actually makes me excited to come home and play, I enjoy doing most things a lot more in general when its not the only thing I do I know what what I said isn't specifically about doom's "repetitive gameplay" but I think its still relevant in a way as it affects my enjoyment of playing -
It's been a while since I posted anything here. I haven't done anything doom related in quite some time, i've been busy putting all my skill toward working on my own game as well as focusing on school more (I graduated and have much more free time). I scrolled through the past few pages and felt inspired to make some stuff real quick, here is a glowy rune gargoyle thing I made, the Les Legions Noire logo embedded on some green marble and an Albanian flag.

What Video Game Are You Currently Playing?
CherryPoptartzzz replied to Neurosis's topic in Everything Else
Over the past week i've gotten addicted to terraria, I played minecraft a ton on my 360 back in the day so I never really payed attention to terraria, but a friend gifted me terraria on steam a while back and I grew to like it a lot, actually I think I prefer it over minecraft. I loved it as a kid but playing it nowadays it just feels super slow and boring, and I can't say I care for the newer updates all that much, I just feel so much more engaged playing terraria and exploring -

What sort of wads would you like to see?
CherryPoptartzzz replied to Skronkidonk's topic in WAD Discussion
Overall I want more megawads that vary up the levels a bit thematically. I almost always get bored of a megawad that has more than 5 levels in a row with the same exact theme or setting, even if the map is objectively well designed with its layout, i just can't help but feel bored when its one of many same looking tech base levels i've played before. Not that I necessarily need a dramatic shift every single level, but not many wads that i've played seem to stray from having episodes where every level has the same exact theme, I get why for the sake of continuity but when every level seems to blend together because they feel the exact same it's hard for me to remember a lot of maps. As for general themes, I don't see many jungle/forest themes if at all, i've tried my hand at making some forest themed maps in boom and udmf formats but I never finished any of them because i'm just lazy 💀 -
Do you know some obscure 1990's PC games?

U.R.B.A.N : The Cyborg Project Unironically has one of the best soundtracks i've ever heard. The game itself might not exactly be perfect, but the soundtrack definitely is, sadly I haven't found any other projects the composer worked on -

FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT. The flavor and the texture in my opinion are just way better, especially with cereals like cinnamon toast crunch, the soggy texture the milk gives the cereal just feels gross to me. Happy birthday homie, my 18th birthday was a couple months ago but I basically had the same feeling, it's more of a general feeling I have for most "special" events like holidays and the past few birthdays I've had. I guess i've come to accept that most of these special days just don't do anything for me, most birthdays or holidays I just move on with my day like I would any other. At least on my 18th birthday my mom got me a nintendo switch and a copy of botw so i was pretty happy that time, but other than that I couldn't tell you anything of note that happened in the past few years on my birthday or on christmas or any similar special day

I've been working on this 3rd person project in gzdoom, I borrowed this one script on the zdoom forums that has the camera always chase the player. A problem arose when i was trying to add a cutscene to the map I was working on, I booted up the map in gzdoom after writing a basic script and, instead of sticking to the viewpoint of the camera i placed in the map, it immediately switches to the player chasecam. Here's a video showcasing what I mean incase that was hard to follow. heres a pk3 with the chasecam script and the map featured in the video cambug.zip and heres where i got the chasecam script originally https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=46797 my mod basically uses the exact same chasecam script unmodified and i know its not anything else i have added since it seems to be a problem with these scripts conflicting with each other. my main problem is, i know very little about acs to solve this on my own, i know enough to realize that the camera i have in my map and the player chasecam script are conflicting, but im so lost on finding a possible solution to this problem. if anyone could be kind enough to help me find a workaround i would deeply appreciate it. i regret having not learned how acs works after all my years of modding

man & girl go out to drive under moonlight. they stop at on at a side of road. he turn to his girl and say: "baby, i love you very much" "what is it honey?" "our car is broken down. i think the engine is broken, ill walk and get some more fuel." "ok. ill stay here and look after our stereo. there have been news report of steres being stolen." "good idea. keep the doors locked no matter what. i love you sweaty" so the guy left to get full for the car. after two hours the girl say "where is my baby, he was supposed to be back by now". then the girl here a scratching sound and a voice say "LET ME IN" the girl doesn't do it and then after a while she goes to sleep. the next morning she wakes up and finds her boyfriend still not there. she gets out to check and man door hand hook car door.
