I'm using Linux Mint Debian Edition. Unfortunately DSDA didn't show up anywhere in the package manager. Did attempt that old guide but didn't have much luck with it. Will try again.

Looking for some help getting DSDA-Doom set up on Linux, it's ostensibly cross-platform but I haven't been able to find any binaries, nor find any info on how to build the damned thing. Admittedly quite new to Linux so not very experienced with building stuff from git through the terminal. Anyone been through this and got it up and running?

Kinda vindicating to hear other people haven't finished Scythe 2 either, I thought I just sucked. Just looked up which level I stopped at and was getting increasingly embarrassed thinking it must have been map 28 or something and realizing it was map 24, didn't even get to hell.

Ooo, I love how bad the vibes are, looks like a nightmare to play. I probably should have just made a thread asking about jokewads.
-
There are? Do you know of any notable ones? I'd love to see what they're doing.

Oh! Don't worry, I won't. Like, to be clear I'm not looking at this as a set of guidelines for what not to do. I don't really want to give the game away with regards to what I'm working on so I won't say more than that but yeah, not interested in making this thing pleasing lol

Doing some research for a personal project. Not trying to be a hater here so not gonna ask about specific maps or authors but I'm curious; what sort of stuff do you run into in wads that just like pisses you off/bores you/makes you feel like you've wasted your time? If you're a more magnanimous person who doesn't get like that can you imagine something that would make you?

A Hole for Meat 2.0 - GZDOOM - Doom 2
Acid-Seltzer replied to Acid-Seltzer's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Hotfix 1: Fixed a switch activated door locking after a single use. Enhanced the visibility of the Blue keycard. Made a door in the pinkie room slightly more visible from the entrance. Added a greater number of health pickups to the final boss room. Added a BFG and Plasma gun into the hallway leading up to the boss room. Having a surplus of ammo before reaching this point is still dependent on exploration and scrounging. -

Thanks so much for showing this off! It means a lot to see people enjoying something I made. I'll be comin out with some fixes very shortly to address some of the problems you had. -
Thanks for going through the trouble to give me such in-depth feedback! If you're interested, I released a revised version of this map just yesterday that, imo, is a vast improvement on this version.

This is a single map WAD I've been building on and off for the past year. This the 2nd version of this map that I've released publically, 1.0 is here if you want to compare and contrast; Name: A Hole for Meat Game: Doom 2 Format: UDMF Port: GZDOOM No crouching/jumping. Mouselook permitted and required. Description: Fairly long single map WAD, perhaps double the length of your average vanilla doom level. Saving is recommended. Consists of two forking routes that can be tackled in either order and a final third route leading up to a boss gauntlet. All assets used in the creation of this map are vanilla, including enemies, textures, music tracks, weapons, etc. Download: A Hole For Meat 2.0 Hotfix 1.zip Gallery:
