This morning, I took part in a Swedish radio show called "Ring så spelar vi" (literal translation: "Call us, and we'll play") where people can call in every saturday morning and request songs, as well as answer questions to win prizes. I played the game online earlier this week to qualify for the show. An hour ago, I woke up to a telephone call from one of the producers of the show, who let me know I'd been chosen to participate. Anyway, it was a very nervous experience, and the topic wasn't my area of expertise exactly (knitting!) but I got the question right, and won a gift certificate for CDs. :-)
The song I requested, by the way, was "Pinball Wizard" by The Who.
Has anyone else ever participated in a TV/radio game show? How was the experience? Did you win anything?-
Yeah, about two years ago I called into a local radio station to be their 13th caller and won. They played my bit on the air, and I couldn't have sounded more retarded. I was at work and got through and the voice on the other line says...
"hello" so I reply
"Uhhhh is this the Power Loon?"
"Yes it is"
"Oh yah, I was just trying to be your 15th caller or something"
"It was 13th"
"Oh well shoot..."
"And that's you"
"Woo Hoo"
I ended up winning tickets to some amature Nascar event at the Brainerd Raceway; I never bothered to even go pick up the tickets or go.
