  1. Im trying to find any high res remakes of this sound. I think it's the best plasma sound ever in my book, it's just that im so used to using an high def pack for Doom that I cannot stand these old sounds. I wonder if anyone has a source or managed to make a decent high def take on it.
  2. I've found this but im pretty sure this isn't it, it's some weird blue ball: I should have a rhomboid shape and I think it has 2 frames that rotate or something. Anyone knows how I would need to do this for a project? But first I need to get the sprites.
  3. Well that's pretty cool, but I still think they should be paid for their work. They are making additional money by adding new content, thus authors should get a share. We are talking full episodes or god forbid megawads here, trying to finish one is a full time job.
  4. Just wondering, how does this work? Bethesda contacts the authors and asks for permission? do you they get any money? Or they just add whatever they want as official addons?
  5. Im assuming this is one of those "X amount of sectors" maps? they are too small and blocky.
  6. This looks like a cool vanilla wad, im assuming it was never finished beyond map 11? This one looks real weird. I like the simple vanilla look but perhaps like too blocky or something.

Yeah but anyone with some basic knowledge on fps can jump on a server and get some kills, however if you were to jump on a duel you would get obliterated 42 -2 and you would never play the game again. To solve this you would need a big playerbase to get an accurate matchmaking system, but since the game is not noob friendly this doesn't happen. It's one of those things.
  8. The required skillset to perform in Quake is just too much. The mainstream moved to CS and team games in general because it's way more forgiving. In CS you can jump in there and get some frags, in Quake you will get obliterated. Of course with a big enough playerbase, this would be solved via matchmaking systems. The problem is that you need a big enough playerbase. The zoomoid will never get good in Quake when he has so many instant gratification alternatives today.   9. Anyone has something to play? im ok with some textures as long as they are retro and fit within the doom style, like duke or SW textures. But gameplay has to be vanilla, no new weapons or enemies etc etc.
  10. Same here, I really like the concept of this project, but some sounds seem off, the caco's high frequency sounds, as well as the plasma which sounds a bit weak, should be improved. Hoping there are further updates.
  11. Do you have to load the wad file, dehacked file or both?
  12. Probably a gazillion, limiting it to monitor's hz fixed it. I cannot get used to the lack of Perk's smooth weapons mod tho, after ages of using it I cannot play the original doom anymore. I know there's some sort of dehack hack but im not sure. Couldn't this mod be made compatible with perk's stuff without breaking something?
  13. Something i've noticed is that my GPU fan (I think) does a screething sound when looking at certain places. Also, I would like that the game starts on the last quickload and not restart the game when dead.
  14. I made it work, my question now is, how do you get the wide status bar? not stretched, but with the grey sides. And also, how do you improve how it looks? I've enabled OpenGL. What other settings could I tweak?
  15. It's regular characters but it contains spaces. Like "IWADs folder".
