DOOM is one of those games I always come back to. There may be times I get tired of it and need a break, but it's a game I am fond of. One of the earliest video games I began playing and is among one of my treasured favorites. Plus it has such a lively and active community, there's always some form of new life breathed into it so it never gets stale. I think anyone who has placed DOOM as one of their favorites of all time will never get tired of it, even if they take a break from it, because it's a favorite for a reason. It may hold some special memories when it came out, it may have just been "the game" that hit all the sweet spots for that player that cannot be matched today. Whatever the reason, there's a reason the community is still alive and well today after all these years.

What would be the worse game universe to be stuck in?

As fun as the Doom games are, actually living Doom would be a living hell. -
Put any random things you are happy about here.

I'm happy for the rain. I just love rain and we're getting lots of it right now! I'm looking forward to the live action Netflix series of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The teaser and trailer look very promising, if they actually get it right, I'm going to be ecstatic! I'm ready to relive this amazing experience in a new format. Having amazing friends I've known for years now who share the same interests as me. Sometimes I feel really alone, even in my own communities (whether it's one of my favorite games that have ugly fandoms, the indie dev world, or even at church). But I have people by my side that fill those gaps, and it means a lot to me. -
Typically I watch random videos on YouTube, but when it comes to actual shows, right now I'm enjoying an anime called Delicious in Dungeon that's every Thursday on Netflix (I'm really loving these weekly episodes, I prefer it over just a whole series dropping to binge, gives me something to look forward each week and helps me pace myself). This anime has been a real surprise to me. It starts off in a seemingly generic fantasy setting, with a very comedic twist of eating monsters in the dungeons, but as the series progresses -- you come to know the characters, which are all very likable, and there's even some emotional bits to it, so I'm like wow -- this is more than just some silly comedy, you actually care about the characters' goal to go deeper into the dungeon to save the protagonist's sister who was eaten by a dragon (they're trying to get to it before she's digested in a month).

I feel like this is quite an subjective question, since everyone's tastes vary, so what I think would make a perfect game may be total trash to another and vice versa. First of all, seeing actual effort and passion definitely helps, because if the dev themselves don't like what they're making then nobody else will lol. I want to play a game that's obviously designed by people who also loves games. For me, I absolutely love exploration. I love great level design and non-linear maps where, yes, there's a Point A to Point B to get to the next level, but there's also some other paths I can tread and explore. Secrets are always a bonus as it adds something new to discover and you can't always get it in your first go, sometimes you may find these years down the line. I also think amazing music really helps to immerse someone into the world. Also is your game simply just straight to the action or is it story based? If it has heavy emphasis on story, then the story must be good where I care about what's going on instead of agonising for a skip feature. I personally love story-driven games, but it's gotta be engaging.

Been in the mood for Unreal & UT99 music. Was looking to listening to one of my favorite UT99 tracks (Hall of Champions) and came across this pretty epic cover of it. Love seeing the music of this game still get appreciation!

How many games do you have installed currently?
Kokoro Hane replied to Mr Masker's topic in Everything Else
Majority of the games I have installed are indie games lol. That folder consists of about... 79? I really need to do some cleaning haha. As for big commercial games, I have about... 9? That's for my PC. On my phone, I have about... 23. -
The last couple of films I watched was with my auntie. We streamed "Disenchanted", the sequel to Disney's "Enchanted", and I was actually pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the film and thought it wrapped up nicely, and it actually had a lot of good music. I didn't dislike any musical number. Sequels, especially direct-to-video, er, streaming, can be very tricky and hit or miss, but I'm glad this was actually good. It was a fun movie and Another film we streamed was an older movie, "Candle Shoe", oh my gosh that was a lot of fun! Can't believe I never saw this before. Why can't movies be fun like this anymore? Haha.
