Hey, all. So whenever I try to launch Eternal through Steam, it crashes as soon as the bethesda and id logo animations are done and the little "teleporting" loading screen is done. I've tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, updating my graphics driver, verifying the integrity of game files, pretty much everything I can think of. I'm out of ideas on what I can do to fix this problem and I can't change the game settings because it crashes before I can get to them. Anyone have ideas for a fix?

It's an FPS game with horror elements. A horror game is meant to make the player feels scared and powerless, I feel neither of those while playing Doom.

I would much rather play a new, expansive, eye-catching megawad over an ""HD"" remaster of the original IWADs. I just don't see a point to it.

Mods, pretty much. Whenever a mainstream gaming outlet (ex. Kotaku) talks about classic Doom they usually talk about how """someone""" (never credited) made some wacky Doom mod (usually for GZdoom).

Just read the wiki page Edward850 posted. Try it out for yourself to see if you like it. Personally it and GZDoom are my 2 main source ports (besides multiplayer stuff like Zandronum).

For me, Steam simply has more stuff, and is easier to manage as a single launcher. I don't like having to switch between 5 different launchers for random games I wanna play.

Is the map fun? Will I enjoy playing this map? Will I dedicate time to completing this map? If the answer to the questions above are yes, and the map also happens to be ultrahard, then that's how I determine quality.

Eh, I'd prefer not. The OG Doom 4 kinda looked like Call of Duty with demons in it. Not my cup of tea and I think it'd disappoint alot of fans.

Pretty crazy how it's nearly been 6 years since this came out. BTW Am I the only one who would prefer to call it "Doom 4" over "Doom 2016"?

Alot of those levels on those Doom shovelware CDs. Especially considering they probably were in Walmart bargain bins.
