Diablo 2: LOD. Pretty sure I got close to 6000 hours in that one. Path of Exile. 2164 hours. Dark Souls III I am sure I have close to 1000 hours as well.

I was really, really super skeptical over this, kind of thinking "jesus christ its just going to be more eternal" but what I see from this trailer is tickling a feeling in my brain I haven't felt in a long time. Chainsaw shield is friggin' wonderful. Where my D2 smiter bros at I'm excited.

Not something that happened to me, but happened to the head tech at the shop I used to work at. We were doing some maintenance work on a riding lawnmower that was probably older than the combined age of couple of us working in the shop at the time, some red MTD Yard Machines. Thing was dusty and full of old grass and pine needles and such, part of the maintenance ticket was to clean the machine up. Unfortunately where I live leaving a lot of detritus with wood and pine needles leads to the cuddliest, cutest little bug ever: The pine beetle! Looks cute and innocent enough except for one thing. These little fuckers bite. Hard. Head tech was doing some cleaning of the unit, saw like 8 of them crawling around on the mower deck. He couldn't quite make them out until putting a flashlight on it, after which case I just heard him say in a breathless panic "Fucking PINE BEETLES!" - I'd never seen someone so quickly unbutton a shirt and throw it on the ground, which the spectacle was something to see as he was not a small guy - 250 lbs, about 6 feet tall. This all happened in the span of about 2 seconds from bug sighting to shirt in the corner. I know this one said scariest, and of course pine beetles are nasty little creatures. This also ended up being a funny sight too.

Should we base a wad idea around the idea that Doom Guy's catalytic converter got stolen, and the whole wad is centered around Doom Guy trying to track down the thief before it gets pawned? You could end it with the EP4 endscreen except holding a sawed off CC instead of rabbit head.

I'll do it for you. This is like saying the sky is made of water, because the sky is blue like the reflection of water under the sky. Or that sunflowers are made of cheese, since their petals are reminiscent of processed cheese product due to coloration. Does anyone else see the fundamental problems with these very loose points of comparison based on extremely surface-level, hardly relevant factors somehow being used to establish some kind of a meaningful link between the two brands? Not sure if this has been asked with any Q&A for Ken but I have this one that I've been curious about: During experimentation phase of the build engine, what led to the final design decision to use portals amongst other technologies of the time? I am aware of its benefits compared to other rendering technologies at the time, as well as the constraints of mainstream user hardware - was there a significant analysis done on different approaches to measure their strengths and weaknesses, or did the idea start in one iteration as an engine unrelated to the Build engine and then grew organically from there? I ask this because of my (hazy) memory showing different levels of capability between something like Ken's Labyrinth going to Duke 3D and other big names of the day.

C'mon... aren't you at least a little excited to try counting down exactly when the next "i'm sad because there's no new doom game yet" thread will drop? We need more "gameplay type bad"... and let's not forget the classical sign of no ability to think on one's own "what's your opinion on ?" and the extra special "should i [do things]?" Too bad the state of the forum software is so difficult. It would be hilarious to see if there is a mechanism to allow a combination of 5 status updates and 15 posts to existing topics without the ability to add links to anything before creation of a new topic.
