  1. I've been joining way too many projects this year, but this looks fun so I'll take any slot in Episode 2. Maybe E2M3?
  2. I'd like to take any map in Episode 2! Promise I won't make a sewer level ;)
  3. Alright, my map's done! I finished it, then had it sitting around, added a secret, submitted it. Bon appetit. - Map Slot : Map04 - Map Name : Dust Devil - Author(s) : Me - Ports tested : Crispy Doom, GZDoom - Screenshots : Attempt Cereson MAP04 thing idk.rar
  4. It seems my reckoning is soon. I pray you've improved since the first wad (for both our sakes :P) Edit : Well, I would give a map by map synopsis, but after downloading the wad I blacked out and woke up to the Doom 2 cast call screen, so I'll just give a general overview and some slight things I remember. I enjoyed the use of textures other than STARTAN, but was sad to see a lack of height variation. I also found the enemy placement quite annoying at times. Even then, I can't find myself hating these maps. I think the wad's just charming like that. Overall, more fun than Powerhouse 1. Wish the best!
  5. Alright, submitted it to the Google Drive. Wasn't sure if I was supposed to give it the in-game name or the actual song name, so I just submitted it as D_DEAD. Here's the info : Song Name : Hit the Gas (didn't wanna just name it "fuel - mini's version") Song Slot : Map10 - Waste Recycling Song Sources : The Demon's Dead + I Sawed The Demons
  6. Hey, is it fine if I submit D_DEAD? I noticed it wasn't in the drive yet, and I'm not sure if someone's working on it right now. My version's done, but I'll change anything that sounds overall awful (you could technically consider the whole midi bad, but it's a matter of perspective :P) I'll send a snippet if needed to make sure it's not some off-key abomination. Cheers!
  7. Hey, is it fine if I take Map 04? Had a sudden burst of inspiration. Proof of concept's in the spoilers.
  8. This map caused me physical pain, but in a good way. 10/10.
  9. Here's a tip : Next time you post a map, add the source port it's meant to be played on. Screenshots of the map, too. This map was fun, in a beginner kinda way. It was fairly boxy and linear, though. I liked the jump pad at the start, but it didn't really show up again. From one amateur to another, I wish you luck in your mapping journey!
  10. Add info and screenshots next time you post a wad. Since I played this, I can say that this is for GZDOOM, as it has PNG textures, doors with no tags and a titlemap. I'll give my honest opinion on this megawad. I'm sorry I'm harsh through most of this, I understand it must be one of your first times mapping. I wish you nothing but improvement. No demos or videos, as I forgot to record while playing and don't really want to play through it again to record. Please keep in mind, I'm only an amateur mapper and a more amateur Doom player, so my critiques on how hard a level is may not be entirely accurate, but I'll try and look at the difficulty objectively. I played on HMP, and used resurrect if I didn't feel like beating my head against a brick wall for about 30 minutes. I also used MDK once, but I'll explain why when we get there. Generally, I'll give my experience below. If you want critiques on a map by map basis, open the spoiler. This is a beginner's megawad, and you can tell. The good news is, this mapper can only go up from here! The bad news is, this wad is the quality of all those "first map" wads you see posted everywhere. Linear maps with height variation a-la Wolfenstein 3D and monsters placed with nary a thought put in. Most key door are unmarked (some are even marked by the tracks of the door, oddly.) I believe this mapper can improve, but their map design is basic as of now. Try and study some maps and mappers you like the work of, and vary the height of the level more. Right now, it's 128 high ceilings and 0 high floors all the way through. Also, try and add more variations on your open areas, and try to think about what a player might do in a given room. Anyways, onto the level by level reviews.
  11. Updated the map! I made UV less gruesome (I hope, I'm a HMP player) and modified the room with the waste vats. I attached the updated version to the original post and this one too. Enjoy! Waste Treatment V2.rar
  12. Alright, map's done! I had a few ideas bouncing around, but I made this and thought, "Yep, that's somewhat passable." Please tell me if anything goes wrong, breaks, or is just unfun. Details are below: Map Name : Waste Treatment Format : Boom: Doom 2 (Doom Format) Difficulty Settings : Yes. Keep in mind, they might not be balanced that well, as I'm complete dogshit. Tested in : Prboom+, GZDoom Build Time : I'd say about 12 hours at most. (Not accounting for all the scrapped maps.) Screenshots are in the spoilers. Otherwise, enjoy! < Changelog > 10/16/2023 - Balanced UV difficulty better thanks to @needsF00DBadly's feedback (Thank you!!). Also, retooled the room with the vats.
