  1. I'm somewhat surprised that Delta didn't get at least a mention. It seemed to get a decent amount of votes IIRC.
  2. Damn. Masayuki was really a legend and he helped create my favourite system of all time, the SNES. Rest in Piece.
  3. That's what I was going for, and I think I did a decent enough job at trying to make it its own thing, but I'm considering on adding two changes to make it more original: Lowering the number of lines in the middle from 10 to about 4 or 5 to demonstrate this port being more stripped back. (<- This'll apply to both logos) Adding a pixelation effect as opposed to a brushed steel effect. It is called Retro ZDoom after all. (<- Might only be applied to the more detailed logo) I'm open to any more suggestions though! I wouldn't mind this being the primary logo, but I did intend the logo to be a prohibit symbol to represent the ports more stripped-down approach.
  4. Yeah, that's what I was attempting to go for. Again, I'll do some editing later to make it look more like brushed steel.
  5. Paint.NET and a few plugins do the trick ;) I actually made mine in ~30 minutes. A lot of the said Paint.NET plugins/effects help to create stuff like this pretty quickly. Thanks! The brushed metal effect I feel could be further improved though as it looks more like streaks than anything. I might give it a play later to see if I can make it look better and actually like metal.
  6. ZDoom will really never die. I also see we're making logos for RZDoom, right? I guess I should join as well: Main Logo Simple Logo w/ Pixels Simple Logo These were made to stylistically fit in with the G/L/Q/ZDoom (<- wow) logos. I updated them to include some of the edits I mentioned here. I'm also really digging @Dragonfly's icon as well though!
  7. I've been playing with some of the earlier builds a while ago. Super fucking solid stuff here mate! And this is coming from me, a semi vanilla purist. I'm also happy to see the N64 3 point filtering and PSX aspect ratio correction applied here. Just small touches like that are awesome.
  8. Here: It ain't much, but it's gonna be worth something. Also, I want to play the map listed for 12. I don't know what it is but knowing that it's a metroidvania style map makes me interested.
  9. I've been thinking about doing a speedmapping MegaWAD.

Basically, I'll make a 1-2 hour speedmap everyday for 3 weeks (meaning 21 maps in total), then stitch them together into 3 episodes with 7 maps. I don't think I'll do 3 weeks back-to-back, but I'll still do 3 weeks worth of speedmaps.

I've been in a bit of a mapping block recently, so doing this should help with my creativity. Plus, I already have an idea for a map, so I guess I'll start now.

  10. This guide here explains how to change text colour in the terminal.
  11. Because I can Going back on topic, another idea I thought of is by making a Stroop test kind of thing. What I'm thinking is if the word displayed is "red" but coloured in blue, you'd need to press the B key (for blue) to get it correct. Maybe you could have 10 or so words in a stream and add up all the correct answers in total.
  12. Well, fair enough. I remember writing one for C64 BASIC a little while back. Never got far with it though hehe
  13. You could create a text adventure game of some kind.
  14. Yeah, that'd make more sense. But I'm no Switch developer (or a dev in general), so hopefully you and everyone else apart of Quake EX can fix this.
  15. I was able to replicate this bug without needing to activate Honey. So doing this also works: Go to Multiplayer Online Multiplayer Match Browser Go back to the Main Menu Go to Multiplayer Local Multiplayer - Start it I'm guessing the bug occurs due to the grey Bethesda.net box that appears before the "Connecting to services" box when selecting online multiplayer.
  16. Would love to see this in Quakespasm-Spiked!
  17. I noticed a few bugs in my map. I'll supply an updated version soon.
  18. Some textures I made using parts of Quake 2 and Half-Life textures: If you want a WAD with the Doom formatted graphics, here ye go.
  19. I haven't played too many games that came out this year, but I'll still mention them: Quake EX: An absolutely perfect remaster. The new/exclusive episode Dimension of the Machine stole the show for me, as it contained some of the best Quake maps ever designed. Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 1: This DLC really kicked my ass. It's quite tough, but still really fun to chew through. Shout out to Andrew Hulshult for the awesome soundtrack. Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury: The Bowsers Fury campaign here was awesome. Nintendo should really use this a a template for the next mainline Mario game. As for Doom WADs: Atmospheric Extinction: I don't typically play much Doom WADs, but this one in particular caught my attention. If you havent played it, you really should.
  20. Damn! I certainly didn't expect a horde mode to make its way into Quake.
  21. Beta Pinky death. I still wonder what id was thinking when making that animation...
  22. Did anyone ask for these CRATE screenshots? heh, I'll see myself out Anyway, this is what I've done so far. Should go without mentioning, but like all early screenshots, things are subject to change! So yeah, enjoy 'em ;)
