  1. Hey. Even with its issues, this is probably the most excited I've been for a video game release this year, and you's certainly didn't disappoint. The fact that I can play Quake on my Switch at all with all these improvements and whatnot is amazing. You's and id certainly went all out with this and outdid yourselves and if it was only Quake and its two expansions, that would be the very least to satisfy me. Knowing you, the rest of Nightdive, and id, these issues can be fixed and addressed to have the definitive version of version of Quake!
  2. Same! Only difference is that I have E bound for doors/switches
  3. God this was hard, but here ye go:
  4. Holy cow. Don't give me ideas for what I can do with this hehe
  5. Is this Majima dying after his birthday? Damn...
  6. It was programmed in assembly? Damn, some dedication right there. Also those Falcon demos are wicked! Seems they used some Quake 3 maps as well! Though, Quake 2 N64 uses models for view model weapons. It just looks as if they're sprites due to the weird bobbing and lack of frame interpolation.
  7. Quake 2 did get a port to the Playstation, but it was developed by HammerHead and ran on their own internal engine.
  8. I see. Going through things such as making new assets that replace the Hexen 2 textures and modifying AD to work in Quake EX (I'm calling it that from now on) would take too much time and work. Oh well. There's still plenty of other mods and map sets that are worth playing
  9. Could we still get AD in this new port though? I don't recall any Quakespasm specific features in AD except the use of Client-Side QuakeC, but even then those were special effects for ports that supported it.
  10. I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!
  11. Just purchased this on the Switch and it's really surreal playing it on the Switch. Though, I want to submit a bug about the Switch port: When you close the weapon wheel, the game seems to play very slightly slower and you can tell with the weapons like the SSG feeling slower. Only way I could fix this was by pausing and unpausing it. Other than that, this is a super stellar port. Unrelated, but I was snooping the PC game files (as I typically do) and I found some cool/interesting things in there: For one, the dev console states that this is KEX 4. Was this used in any other KEX engine games? If not, I'm assuming Powerslave: Exhumed will run on KEX 4 as well? Another thing is that the actual internal(?) name for this remaster is "Quake EX" judging by the QuakeEX.kpf file. Also, the PAK files have a folder called "tactile" which has PS5 Dualsense WAV files as well as Nintendo's BNVIB files for HD-Rumble.
  12. Doom 2: The Way We Remember It I'm making MAP29 for it.
  13. Just installed this to say that this feels very solid. And it seemed to not break my Quake install as it just creates a "rerelease" folder within the directory. However, I noticed this mild texture bug at the edge of this slope in E1M1: Other than that, can't wait to get this on the Switch!
  14. I might just move my mods to another folder temporarily just to be safe.
  15. Question: If I already have a source port, as well as some mods in my Quake install directory on Steam, will this overwrite the mods? I'm not at my PC right now so I can't check
  16. HOLY SHIT I just woke up to this and I can't wait to get it on my Switch! Great job id! And whoever else developed this updated version! It's truly a good time to be a retro shooter fan!
  17. Very nice! I really like the frequent use of BROWN1.
  18. Woof and Russian Doom are my favourites
