Indeed, some arenas are completely skippable, such as the first arena of map 02. I explain a bit of what I thought in the readme archive, but at that time I did not have everything well organized yet. I am making other maps now with better rules, but essencialy there are different lines of demons that teleport in, and I have organized them by types of lines. The boss line is the one that contains the demon that allows you to go through the map, in the second arena of map 02, there is a line that spawns an archvile which frees the other two archviles (each one open one door of that arena), if you find this line, you do not have to kill other demons to progress through the map. It is a call for speedrunning and also to make the arenas easier. I am working better on these rules now and the next maps will be even more organized in this matter, but I will keep this line system.

Mods like Brutal Doom that change significantly the gameplay, since I have not tested any. Visual mods and things like that are okay.

Number of maps in a set (Max/Min): 8/1. Genres don't like: Terry/Jokewads, Slaughter maps, Deathmatch maps. Preferred souce ports: GZDoom. Refused source ports: Any other for now. So after two years I decided to get back to my Doom maps that I never finished. I still consider myself a beginner, since this is my first WAD and I have done only 5 maps up to this date. I would appreciate some feedback on this one, specially if maps 2 and 3 feel overwhelming, I thought about splitting them on two or three more maps, but I do not have the time nor the ability for that. Without further ado: -GZDoom; -DOOM2.WAD; -HNTR difficulty; -No jumping, no crouching; -Free look allowed; -No mods; -Supports 2 and 3 players coop, but I have not tested it, I do not recommend it. Feel free to record your playthrough and post it on YouTube or whatever, I would really appreciate to see how you guys are gonna do it. The readme archive contains more info. Since it is 33mb, you will have to download it here.

Thank you so much! I'll delete this arena and remake it for a future level, adding a second floor and changing demons' placement in a way that it doesn't block an incoming demon. My next post will be the fully episode when I finally finish it.

Thank you very much! I'll change some specters for pinkies. In the first arena, the portal lowers when the second Archvile dies, in the second arena, when the Cyberdemon dies, so it's not actually necessary to kill every demon, this was intentional! I'll work on the arena's layout too, I don't know what's happening with GZDoom, there was another texture bug in one stair, it was visible, so I just decided to remove one of the steps. Also, I noticed sometimes the Cyberdemon doesn't spawn in, so I made one change that I hope will reduce this problem, I've updated the map file. Again, thank you very much for the review!

Just to let you know, this is another project I have for another episode, who knows, I would include this map and make some little changes, like adding a little exploration. One detail I forgot to include in the topic: music volume up!

I've decided to experiment a little bit and make something different than my first map, this map is not that big too, but the combat is improved. I'd really appreciate if you could check it out! Feel free to record your playthrough, it would be nice for me to see how the map is working with other people. -Tested on GZDoom and Zandronum *GZDoom may have some minor texture bugs; -DOOM2.WAD; -Replaces MAP11; -Free look is optional, crouch and jump are prohibited by script; -HNTR/HMP for casuals, UV/UV+ for a challenge, I don't recommend Nightmare; -No exploration, all for the killing; Edit: the map currently supports 2 players coop. Edit 2: second arena is buggy as hell, I'll delete it and add a different section for this map. I'll also remake that arena for a future map. hellawaits.rar

Thank you very much, your advices are highly appreciated! I'll for sure work on improving the layouts and heights variation, next maps will also be bigger, so I'll have a little more space to work on that.

Thank you! This map is indeed very short and linear, it will be the first map of an episode I'm intending to make, so it was more to set the pacing and test some concepts, I'll for sure try to make bigger and non-linear maps for the rest of the episode. Again, thank you for the advices!
