I tried decreasing the cycles before, but it didn't do anything. Even when I went down from 3000 to just a few cycles (which I expected to crash DOSBox, but nuffin').
A script that loads the HDoom pk3 cumzillions of times till our plane of existence itself starts lagging.
You mean like, LSDoom?
I want to emulate that shitty 386DX experience, 12 fps, audio lagging, both in DOSBox and in Zandronum (bc of multiplayer with bots). Increasing frameskip just doesn't cut it, cos the audio is still "flowing". What can I do?
How common was the "low detail" and PC speakers setting among people who played Doom following the years of its initial release? What about that odd stone-frame that covered the perimeter of the screen, or the original "laborious" keyboard settings? Where those common?
I could ask many more questions, but it seems that most of 'em have already been answered on previous threads.
