  1. A statement has been released about the condition of driver Stefan Wilson: Nothing has been said with regard to Wilson's replacement in the field.
  2. Katherine Legge and Stefan Wilson have just been involved in the first crash of the month. It would appear that Legge rear-ended Wilson going into turn 1 at full speed. Legge got out of her car and is apparently okay, but Wilson is being taken to the hospital on a stretcher for evaluation. This was during Monday practice after pole day. I'm sorry I wasn't able to report further on Sunday, but I injured myself. That made typing most difficult.
  3. My pain level has shot up again. I aggravated my right rotator cuff tear. Bad. The pain is now an almost constant 9 or 9.5 out of 10 on the 0-to-10 pain scale doctors use. All of a sudden, some of the things I'm used to doing, like twisting my arm, putting on clothes, and the like, hurt like ungodly hell, and I don't know what to do. I've exhausted almost all of my avenues: I've talked to my pain management doctor and my orthopedic doctor, and both say nothing can be done, and I've been to the hospital ER and they say they can't help me. URRRGH.

I can't take much more of this.

Damn it, hope you get better.

Must feel incredibly painful to try to do something you used to before this happened, oof.

Just saw this in the activity feed and just wanted to wish you the best. I hope you feel better, is there some kind of physical therapy you can do or would that just aggravate the problem?

Physical therapy would just aggravate it further. I need to immobilize this, but I can't. (shudder)

  4. Practice for Last Chance qualifying is under way. Three Rahal Letterman Lanigans. One Dale Coyne with RWR. One hour.
  5. Rinus Veekay is being towed back to the pits after sparks and smoke came out of his engine.
  6. Fast 12 practice is under way. Four Hondas, eight Chevys. Four Ganassis, four McLarens, two Foyts, one Penske, one Carpenter. One hour.
  7. Ah, sorry, my mistake. Mea culpa. Anyway, practice for the Fast 12 and Last Chance qualifying gets under way in a few minutes' time. Let 'er roll!
  8. Yeah, but I'm pissed that I'm not going to be able to watch the game today. The schedulers created a conflict with Indy 500 qualifying, and there's no way in hell I'm going to miss anything related to the Indy 500!
  9. You might want to consider cheering on Benjamin Pedersen, too. I believe he's Dutch by birth. He drives for A.J. Foyt's team, and he and teammate Santino Ferrucci burned the hell out of the track yesterday. They'll both be in the Fast 12 qualifying today.
  10. BTW, here are positions 13 through 30, with car number in parentheses, engine manufacturer, team name, and speed: Row 5 13. (33) Ed Carpenter, Chevrolet, Carpenter, 232.689 14. Enerson, Chevrolet, Abel, 231.129 30. (44) Katherine Legge, Honda, Rahal Letterman Lanigan, 231.070
  11. That's quite all right. Canapino is making a HUGE jump this year. Fifteen championships (?) driving touring cars in Argentina, then all of a sudden uprooted with his girlfriend and their two dogs, doesn't speak a word of English, and moved to the United States to learn a totally foreign racing discipline and language. Not only is he conversing in English now, he's slamming an IndyCar around arguably the greatest track of them all at 231.320 miles per hour and placing his car on the outside of Row 9 for next week's race! He deserves massive mad props for what he's been able to pull off in such a short period of time. Cheer your heart out for Canapino. He's earned it.

  13. Serious bummer. Still, it's playing out to the same pattern as it has with the Stars' first and second round series. They lost Game 1 of both series then as well, in overtime, too, if the local sportscaster can be believed. No reason for the Stars to sit on their collective ass, however. C'mon, guys! Rally and win Game 2!
  14. Going into OT in Game 1 between Las Vegas and Dallas. Fingers crossed for the Stars.

  19. I can see your point. Not going to agree with it, as a Dallas Stars fan, but I can at least see it. :D
  20. Game 6 was no fun. Let's try that again in Dallas Monday night for Game 7.
