Why do you think we came up with EMIDI in the first place? Songs sounded different on everyone's favorite sound card. We adapted as best as we could, until streaming CD music was practical. I don't know what they did after that.

My shipment of Tim Tams and Maple Leafs came in today from Amazon (please buy my album ^_^ ). The Tim Tams were their usual good selves, ready to be used in a Tim Tam Slam. Never had the Maple Leaf cookies/biscuits before - they were quite nice, with good maple flavor. I wish I'd had a glass of milk around. I'd give them a 4/5 stars and order them again. The referral for the echocardiogram at my cardiologist didn't work out. There was an initial miscommunication, and by the time that was fixed, it was too late to do one today, and no spots were available for Friday. I'm going to write a message to my primary care doctor now to see about scheduling with another cardiologist, if that can be done.

My edema (swelling) in my legs has been getting out of control lately, and other symptoms have been joining in the fray. My breathing has been rough, I've had a couple of anxiety attacks (linked to the breathing, I guess), and I'm having issues staying conscious at times. I reported everything to my doctor, and he called me in for lab work, which showed that my kidneys aren't functioning right and that my anemia is progressing despite the iron infusions. He's referred me over to my cardiologist for an echocardiogram (I assume) to see if my kidneys and my anemia are pushing me into Congestive Heart Failure. I'm hoping I'll hear from him sometime today.

I got paid direct royalties based on the sales of Shadow Warrior 1997, and while I can't speak to any specific numbers, I can say this: I was not thrilled with my checks beyond the first one, and even the first one in retrospect was not mind blowing. Gather from that what you will.

Very sad. Ghastly was known outside the Doom community as well. I met him (online only) through the Alloy internet Thomas Dolby Fan Club. He and I arranged and recorded cover songs of Thomas's works as part of a birthday present to Thomas for a couple of years. His "pirate" version of Thomas's "Nuvogue" was legendary (can't post it - it was for Thomas's ears only, sorry). Rest well, you twisted curmudgeon. You'll be missed.

I don't know what's going to happen with me and my music, the way my health is going, but I'm certainly wanting to make more music if my body will let me. Good lord, this is so frustrating. I hope 2023 will be a better year than 2022 has been.
