Received five by five. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Give the man more credit than that, will you? I learned much of what I know from studying his pre-Doom music. The man deserves respect as a pioneer in the industry.

To be fair, the only ones I've ever really heard any decent amount of their music are Bobby Prince and Andrew Hulshult. I like both of them. I tried to avoid listening to other composers so I wouldn't be accused of ripping off their ideas. ^_^;

It's a toss-up between telemarketer and night shift at the 24-hour bowling alley. It was my job to hot-wash and then wax all 36 lanes, followed by doing a buff of the floors of the entire building. I hurt my back doing that job and actually quit at one point, only to come back after the boss practically begged me. Then, one night, after my co-worker told me he was "putting up the big bills," I was accused of stealing and banished from the bowling alley for life. I'd practically grown up in that bowling alley, so that was a kick to the balls when the boss did that. Didn't even give me a chance to prove my innocence. My only solace is that the bowling alley is now an Office Depot.

Essential stuff for fans of Lee Jackson

My second iron infusion, which was scheduled to take place today, got quietly un-scheduled without my knowledge, without so much as a phone call to me, and without so much as an apology by the secretaries at the oncology clinic. It's been re-scheduled for Tuesday, November 1st at 9:30 a.m., and it had better stay that way, or there will be blood. Grrr. -

Good - you had me worried there. :) I think that whatever issue you might have had with the "1-2-3m-1-2-3-4-5" thingy might be alleviated when you hear the entire first track. It's 10 minutes long, so there's a lot more to it than what you heard in the preview. Track that when the full release comes out on November 4th, if you would. -

Did you listen to the *complete* tracks, or just the previews? -
Call me stupid. Mine uses my real name. The "audio" part is easy enough to guess what it means, but how it got there? Well, I went to set up an account on a certain mail service, and "leejackson" had already been taken. I didn't want anything generic like "leejackson247" or whatever the system had suggested for me, so I tried "leejacksonaudio". The name was available, so I claimed it. The rest is, as they say, history.

Thanks, everyone. Much obliged. BTW, I neglected to mention that you can listen to previews of the tracks from the album if you go to the Apple Music or iTunes links. You might have to fight a subscription pop-up message after finishing a track, but I think you can get around that by clicking on a subsequent track before the track preview you're on completely finishes. I think. :) Some of the tracks you've heard here before, but others, like the title suite, you haven't. Please let me know what you think of the previews by posting here. Thanks! -
My 4th Album is Coming Out November 4th
leejacksonaudio replied to leejacksonaudio's topic in Creative Works
I honestly don't know how much I make if you purchase it through iTunes, but I think it's low. I think, for this album, it's going to be: CD Bandcamp iTunes ...in that order. I can tell you that the CD will be more expensive, around $12, whereas Bandcamp will be $7. Don't know what iTunes will be charging. -
As the thread topic says, I've got a new album coming out on November 4th. It's called, "Lady Tygress' Suite and Other Commissions," and I've got a preview of the artwork for it ready for your viewing. Here's a TinyURL link to it: https://tinyurl.com/f9t2wme8 Click on that and you'll be taken to a 3D preview of the album cover and the disc. The album is available for pre-add on Apple Music and for pre-order on the iTunes store now! You can find links to both at this link: https://leejackson.hearnow.com/lady-tygress-suite-and-other-commissions Look on the left side of the page for the Apple Music and iTunes icons. In fact, if you go to the Apple Music page, you can listen to previews of the tracks from the album! Please check them out today!

I've kind of been on a medical sabbatical as of late while I try to deal with one of the many diagnoses that I have. This one in particular is Iron Deficiency Anemia. I've dealt with chronic anemia for many months now, but my hematologist just recently pulled my iron numbers and found them to be extremely low. The effects of this have been to make me seriously drag my ass, for lack of a better description. I have no energy whatsoever, not even to get online. I had an iron infusion last week at an oncology clinic and have another one scheduled for this Friday. The infusion gave me really bad side effects, but for a day or two afterward I felt non-anemic for the first time in a long, long while. I've been told that the second infusion is supposed to make me feel even better, so I'm looking forward to it despite the nasty side effects. I think I'm caught up with DMs here on the message board. If I've missed anything, please let me know. In any case, I do apologize for going offline without warning like that. Sorry. -

I have a rather long update. Please bear with me. I had an appointment with a hand and arm surgeon this past Monday morning to see what needed to be done for me. She came highly recommended, and had in fact treated my daughter-in-law some while earlier with excellent results. After the doctor ran some tests, she discussed the situation with me. Put simply, I'm going to need a double, possibly triple procedure done during a single surgery. It turns out I not only have Cubital Tunnel Syndrome with left hand atrophy, but I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome as well. She's going to release the Carpal Tunnel and the Cubital Tunnel, and she may have to also perform a traverse of the Cubital Tunnel tendon or nerve (not sure which). All in all, my recovery time is going to take 8 to 11 weeks if everything goes well. There is a downside. The atrophy of my left hand muscles, severe as it is, is permanent. There is no way to regrow the muscles. Not at my age. Put simply, this means I've lost the use of my pinky finger and most of the use of my ring finger, and I've lost considerable strength in my thumb and in the rest of my hand that I'll never get back. Suffice it to say that I'm going to have to figure out another way of playing bass lines on my Arturia Keylab 88. I'm also going to be a bit slower when it comes to doing input on Cakewalk by Bandlab, especially when Control keys are involved. The surgery is not a waste of time, though. It will keep my hand from getting worse (e.g., it won't develop a claw posture, nor will it lose more muscle). The tingling sensation I have in it 24/7 is supposed to improve as well. For these reasons among others, I'm going through with it. There is just one small matter that really irks me about the surgery, and that's the surgery date. Wouldn't you know it, they scheduled it for the release date of my fourth album, "Lady Tygress' Suite and Other Commissions," smack dab on November 4th? There's no way I can reschedule it, either. I'll work something out so that the album gets released on time, but good lord, this is an inconvenience! Oh, well - such is life.- 685 replies

It wouldn't happen to be a Duke Nukem 3D MIDI that you're trying to play that's giving you the problems, would it? -

Medical Update 9/19/22: I saw my shoulder surgeon today. His diagnosis: a full-width rotator cuff tear. Solution: major surgery, incapacitated for a couple of months, with it taking a full 9 months to a year to fully heal. However, he told me to see my arm/hand surgeon and talk to them about getting my Cubital Tunnel Syndrome dealt with and my left hand working better than it currently is before I go ahead and schedule shoulder surgery now. My arm/hand surgeon appointment is on October 3rd, and my shoulder surgeon follow-up is on October 10th. We'll get things coordinated somehow. Gonna be a lot of surgery in my near future.- 685 replies

No, the muscle atrophy doesn't happen until the later stages. From the web site: I don't know how long I've been dealing with this. It's either been a very long time, or it's been a very rapid onset. One or the other. -

I have since learned that the cubital tunnel syndrome from which I suffer can cause muscle atrophy in the hand. Check out this link: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/21997-cubital-tunnel-syndrome Read the section about, "What happens if cubital tunnel syndrome goes untreated?" That's what's happening to me. Good lord, this is worrying the shit out of me now. -

I received the results of the EMG (electromyogram) test during an appointment with my neck surgeon yesterday. They found several things. Allow me to transcribe from their report: There is electrodiagnostic evidence supportive of left C6 radiculopathy. There is electrodiagnostic evidence supportive of moderate right and mild-moderate left median sensorimotor neuropathy in its wrist segment, as seen in carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), with bilateral APB reinnervation on needle EMG. There is electrodiagnostic evidence consistent with moderate, left ulnar neuropathy in its elbow segment (UNE) that affects both sensory and motor fibers, with left FDI/ADM reinnervation on EMG. The doctor read this and then did a few diagnostic tests on me, including a squeeze test for strength on my hands. He did one test that hurt the top of my left hand like hell, then stopped and said, "Whoa! Wait a minute." He looked down at my left hand and said, "you've got muscle atrophy!" Sure enough, and I don't know how I missed this all this time, I saw that there were divots in my left hand - one on the back side centered above my ring finger, and another in the flesh between my thumb and forefinger. He told me there was no need for me to get the MRI that I had scheduled for him, since he wouldn't be able to treat the problem - I would need to go to an arm and hand specialist. So, I now have a referral to an arm and hand specialist, with the following commentary: Reason: Patient has left hand wasting and left cubital tunnel syndrome. Please evaluate and treat. Diagnosis: G56.22 - Cubital tunnel syndrome on left G56.03 - Bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome I've been told that there is a possibility that the cubital tunnel syndrome can be treated without surgery, but I don't know what the doctor is going to do about the wasting of my hand muscles. We'll find out. -
Bobby was a Cakewalk genius. He programmed macros in Cakewalk's CAL programming language which I still use to this day. I don't know what he used before he fell into the Cakewalk camp, but at the time I knew him, he was a Cakewalk user.
