  1. Oh you've got me hooked. Map 4 is legit probably the best Nazi map I've played. I especially love that low visibility manc in the cage at the top of the stairs. You have to use audio cues to dodge his crap, which is doable largely because of a very intelligent midi choice. Top shelf stuff, looking forward to finishing it.
  2. I'll put in my first vote, why not. 10 points - A.L.T. 8 points - Speed of Doom 7 points - Resurgence 6 points - 3 Heures d'Agonie 3 6 points - Swift Death 4 points - Going Down 4 points - 180 Minutes Pour Vivre 4 points - 3 Heures d'Agonie 2 3 points - Japanese Community Project 3 points - Sunlust
  3. Well this got a download out of me. Edit: Ok had a chance to play the first couple maps. Fun stuff so far. Map 2 is just a riot. Found this slime trail near the start of map 1.
  4. I agree with this sentiment actually. I think a lot of people underestimate how much more difficult to navigate and mentally exhausting Doom 2 would be without such a muted palette. I love Sandy's maps to death, but the last thing I ever want to play is a Sandy Petersen map in Ancient Aliens textures.
  5. If you've played Speed of Doom on UV then it's kind of hard to recommend something that wouldn't generelly be seen as difficult. Scythe 2 maybe. It gets pretty extra at the end there. Map 25 can pound all the sand.
  6. Try Swift Death. It's pretty hard, and even a lot of early maps will hose you fast, hence the name, but each map is REALLY short so it doesn't feel that demoralizing when you die. Great for practicing saveless runs and will probably improve your general play.
  7. Across all of the IWADs it's Countdown to Death and it's not even close. From Doom 1 specifically, I have to second On the Hunt. One of the only tracks in OG Doom I actively dislike. I'm also inclined to defend Cold Subtleness. I think it's a fun track, but I'll admit, scoring one of the worst maps in TNT doesn't do it any favors.
  8. How'd I miss this?!? Insta-download from me. EDIT: Had a listen to the full set. Straight bangers all the way through. Hardly a surprise though. Excellent work on these. Glad you came back to number 7, it's a fantastic piece. And I love me some Italo Disco; I even have a few Koto midis in my favorites folder waiting for a map, so Discotech Infierno was just right up my alley.
  9. He had already been playing for over 5 hours, and had people in his chat outright telling him that map 31 was a long one and to save it for a later stream. I love Decino, but that Grey Dwarf stream was 100% his fault.
  10. This seems like bending over backwards to try and appease people who just aren't your target audience, in my humble opinion. AA as a whole for me is sort of hit and miss, but I quite like map 31, and I am pretty darn OCD about finding all the secrets in maps I play. I suspect that a lot of people would simply switch to complaining that the secrets aren't marked - especially if there are items or monsters in them. I really wouldn't worry about it; I think you should absolutely be proud of Grey Dwarf.
  11. Have fun. I gave Jeanne Dielman a try once. Round about the area of watching paint dry.
  12. Personally, I think The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is the ONLY reasonable movie in the IMDB top 10. I like Shawshank, Pulp, and 12 Angry Men plenty, but they're nowhere near top 10 worthy IMO. Schindler's List, The Godfather, and the LOTR films are... fine, but quite overrated in my estimation. The Dark Knight being number 3 is legit laughable. It's not even Christopher Nolan's third best film, and none of them are amazing.
