I live in the state, under the martial and legal rule of, the Canadian people - who live out East, between the lakes of Huron, Ontario, and Erie, vaguely bordered to the north by Ottawa river until it reaches the St. Lawrence, wherein the St. Lawrences coastlines plus about 80 or so miles out also find themselves included.
Those people, with their material needs, historical influences, and cultural backgrounds are whom that lord over me. I am not one of them. I was born in Alberta, about 100 miles north of Montana. I have never seen the oceans of the world, nor have I met someone whose native tounge is French. I have nigh nothing in common with those of Laurentia - the place where "Canadian people" live. I have entirely different societal needs and an entirely different worldview. I live in a place that is realistically so far removed from Laurentia, where the laws and political policy in which I live under are written, that if we as groups never had any further communication, we would speak an entirely different language in only a millenia. We are not the same, and therefore we are foreign to eachother.
And due to the election system we live under, and the simple reality that our land is far more barren leading to a lower population, we do not have even remotely fair representation. Our interests are seen as second-priority, and we are suffering for it. I am not represented by the Canadian government, as an Albertan, and yet they literally tax me. They're stealing from me.
anyways yeah nah mate I'm not a Canadian, I'm an Albertan. If there was considerate reform to the current Canadian Parliament to accomidate not only the individual needs of Alberta as does it accomidate that of every other province, then I would consider changing that. Until then, I'm an Albertan. Don't get me confused.
