This is the feeling I get so often. Makes me feel so strange, and depending on my mood or perspective it changes crazily. Life is a roller coaster, eh? Solidarity, I am very grateful too. It just hit me like a rollercoaster that time flies so fast. I mean, we're already 5 months into 2022? Could just be me, but that is actually so weird to realise. But yes, I am very grateful that I have been able to live to my age. Makes you think about how horrible the conditions in some countries where children die soon after birth. Horrifying. But I am glad I've made it to this point 👍

Does anyone else feel really old? Is it just me, or is it actually so weird that we're 5 months in to 2022? It's been almost 29 years since Doom was released??? Its been 32 years since the Berlin Wall came down?? ITS BEEN 12 YEARS SINCE FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS WAS RELEASED? I suddenly feel very old.

We haven't gotten a mod out yet, we're working on a massive project. We develop doom mods and we're a "rising C++ game developer" to put it in a professional way. Not expecting anyone to join, just getting it out there.

Yes, In practically every sense. Doom is certainly a shit-ton more advanced, with graphics, coding, everything. But, you gotta hand it to id games, Wolf 3D was the first 3D game of all time (Or at least from what I remember of the old days of the 90s), so It's still incredibly impressive.

HELL YES! I am an absolute hardcore fan of every type of metal, give me any metal and I probably know it and love it. Metal was/is honestly my life. From 80s onwards, metal. Always metal.

I will definitely put my server here. It's being set up, and I'll probably need some supporters, but hey, should be ready soon. I'm planning to only make it public when my TC is released, expect that soon.

Hello Doomworld! Thank you everyone out there for helping me so often in getting started in the Doomworld community. I haven't done too much in this community but I feel like I owe it to every member here. But, these people have consistently helped me in getting started. - @Doomkid Eternal thanks to always popping up in the ridiculous things I've said. You always seem to appear in people's posts and always seem to help out, spark ideas or just be friendly. You definitely helped me calm down, stop being overly enthusiastic, and just settle into this incredible community. - @Murdoch You also seem to appear in plenty of things I've said. You're undyingly helpful and seem to say curious things that get me thinking. You really showed me my way into this community. - @Biodegradable You have said some great things that have got me thinking. You showed me links and are always helpful. Thank you again. I just got started in the Doomworld community, although I have doom modded for a long time, I've decided to go public. Social Anxiety is a beast, as one wise gazebo once said. I got really over excited and decided to start a community project: the naivety! I've settled down now, and I'm gonna focus on one fucking thing at a time! This community has really showed me an actual purpose, I've done this as a hobby, but it felt so enclosed. So now I'm opening up. Hello Doomworld! Everyone here is helpful and kind. Hah, having people know that your Russian, with the war in Ukraine sparks issues amongst the misinformed. I have a few maps going. I'm gonna keep this thread open, go back to my TC, and I'll keep the maps, and anyone who wants to give me a chance I'll be grateful.

Ok, rephrase. Being Russian, and a "newbie" is a means for a lot of hate in doom community. I wanted people to know that being new, or being Russian shouldn't make a difference. I was aiming this at "newbies" so hopefully they wouldn't be looked down on like I often get looked down on. Not explicitly talking about this community. It seems very welcoming and very nice.

Well, I'd compile the megawad. This community isn't very enthusiastic to get involved so I guess I should wait until I've finished my other TC. Well, sorry guys. Eh, I doubt it was something anyone was interested in from the beginning. Y'know, I had a gut feeling I shouldn't have done it. Thanks for all the helpful advice though. I actually really wanted to do this, to prove to the community that we really can do it, despite our doomworld age.

That was actually what I was going for. I was gonna have the protagonist as an explorer, and have them travel through groups of themed maps e.g. start in the sci-fi section, move to fantasy etc.

Yeah, I have a map. I'll put it up in just a sec. Well, at least no one can say I didn't try... Anyways I'll throw it up here, just a mo. The reason I can put it up now is because I'm on my mac.... need to get onto windows hah. Well, thanks you guys in being relatively friendly, but really helpful.

Thanks everyone! I didn't actually think that any of your posts were negative... just constructive feedback. Although I am new to doomworld, I actually have been modding for a long time so there's not too much to worry about with that. The reason It's not so guided was because I wanted to test the waters of this community. Some communities are guided towards one type of map... it's very specific. I'll take all your advice into mind. I'm still gonna try and see if anyone wants to get involved but I doubt it. Heh, It's amazing how a date can change someone's attitude towards you... Thanks guys!
