  1. More or less in order: Classic Doom Donkey Kong Country 2 Half-life Turok: Dinosaur Hunter The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Super Mario 64 Turok 2: Seeds of Evil Doom 3 Dusk Quake
  2. I've been trying to think of new and unique ways to say congratulations. This is quite a conundrum! I'm truly grateful to have been part of this project. The passion, dedication, and enthusiasm has reminded me to always approach life in the same way. Thank you, @Doomkid for organizing the contest, showcasing the maps, providing constructive feedback, and all your hard work. Watching your playthroughs always put a smile on my face, and I’m having a blast playing the maps myself. And, of course, congratulations to the winners and everyone who participated. I’m almost a little sad that the contest has come to an end. Personally, I wouldn't mind an extension of the 3rd episode. Well, until next time, take care everyone!
  3. I'm fascinated with the history of how the Master Levels came to be. As for the maps themselves, I don't think they're bad per se. But they are certainly flawed. I enjoy Trapped on Titan and Black Tower. However, I don't look foward to playing maps like Mephisto's Maosoleum or Titan Manor. I find many of the maps short, puzzley, and a bit repetitive. Nonetheless, I really don't mind playing through it every once and a while.
  4. Sometimes after clearing a map I found enjoyable, I might use automap to look over the layout, just to reminisce. The other exception is when I'm completely lost. In general, I don't use the automap too much either. But I think it's a good feature to have.
  5. "Easel" by James Paddock. Once I hear it, it's stuck in my head for the rest of the day. In a good way.
  6. Hello again! Here is my demo (using GZDoom) of the map Dictter's Danceoff by PasokonDeacon.* demo_Dictter'sDanceoff.zip Edit: I also made a demo using dsda-doom. Thank you, PasokonDeacon, for all your help! Dictter'sDanceoffv2.zip It was a really fun map! I was impressed with the level of detail and verticality. I especially liked the outdoor encounter at the yellow skull key with the cacodemons and pain elementals putting on some pressure. After finishing the map, I still wanted to explore and look around. Below is my second submission: Chainsaw Massacre: https://wadhosting.com/Wad/DC7E9944E3A02A5CCF215840859DE48FE97164DE Map Format: Doom Music: horror.mid from BitMidi Ports Tested: GZDoom IWAD: Doom 2 Map: MAP01 Gameplay: Single play Difficulty Settings: Yes Multiplayer Placement: No Build Time: 57 minutes + 10 minutes of testing I'm also including a revised version of my first submission Rocket Fodder, just for fun. Feel free to use it or the original in the compilation wad. I took about 5 minutes to tweak some things with the gameplay and make a couple of corrections. I also added a new midi. *I'm new to Doomworld. If someone could tell me how to make @PasokonDeacon, I would greatly appreciate it!
  7. Coincidentally, like Kor I also started to play Doom in the spring of 95 when I was 12. I had just entered the seventh grade, and a friend had an IBM with Doom. My family didn't have a computer back then, but I did have a Super Nintendo. I had never seen anything like Doom, and to say the least, I was mesmerized. Later I bought a used copy of the SNES port, however, I dreamed of getting a computer to play the original in its entirety. That day didn't come until I was in my early 20s. I played through the four iwads, unaware that there was a whole community dedicated to Doom. A decade later I had a renewed interest in Doom, and was blown away by the incredible content. Today Doom is much more than a game to me. It is vibrant, dynamic, and alive.
  8. Hello! I really like this topic. I played Melemesh's map: 4 Towers I enjoyed it, it was like a combat puzzle. Very intense! I got 100% kills the first time, but I ran out of ammo for the cyberdemon when recording the demo. I was so close! Maybe some extra ammo can be placed where the cyberdemon comes out. demo_4 Towers.zip Here's my map: https://wadhosting.com/Wad/04C3B8C81F20536DCBAA848C3CF57A3D26CBB5DA Name: Rocket Fodder Map Format: Doom Ports Tested: GZDoom IWAD: Doom 2 Map: MAP01 Gameplay: Single play Difficulty Settings: Yes Multiplayer Placement: No Build Time: 1 hour + 10 minutes of testing I barely made the 1 hour mark, and spent about 10 minutes testing and fixing a few minor things. *Edit - I caught one mistake. I tagged two additional sectors as secrets when they were meant to be flickering lights.
  9. I'm playing Doom 64 at the moment. Never beat it as a kid, so it's been on my to-do list for a long while. The map design is top-notch. I'm also looking forward to the lost levels.
  10. Hello! I've started to make short maps to increase my speed as I'm pretty slow at the moment. I try to spend no more than 3 hours per map, and everything is spontaneous. It's more for practice than anything else. I hope to become more efficient and work my way up to more ambitious projects. Here's an example: https://wadhosting.com/Wad/22DCD11E22EC9C302CD24D8825630F5B12898D87 It's a really short map for Doom 2, MAP01, single player with difficulty settings, and tested in GZDoom.
  11. Hi! I've really enjoyed watching your playthroughs, Doomkid. Thank you so much for playing my map! I took your advice and now the Spider Mastermind teleports behind the player. That was a cool idea! In addition, I've made some minor changes: The big fight at the end has an escape teleport just in case things get too crazy. The player can also use it to revist earlier parts of the map. Minor changes in some monster placement. Minor fixes in textures/a few extra details. 3 more berserk packs have been added in multiplayer. Here's the link: https://wadhosting.com/Wad/9B563F26A377584B7026D2C3CAC97285A6EB8336
  12. Hello! I had co-op starts but forgot to add all the dm starts. I added 4 dm starts in the Archvile maze section. https://wadhosting.com/Wad/FB69180F4695AD4167B50E2C581547AF57EE8F05 Thanks!
  13. Hi everyone! Hope all is well. Here's the second version of Vile Streets: https://wadhosting.com/Wad/77AE9AB2F697B169F49DBA3A1D5C790E870E37A8 I made some minor adjustments to monster placement, and added more monsters/ammo for multiplayer.
  14. Thank you so much for your feedback! I really appreciate it. I should have the final version ready this weekend. The maps I have played thus far are a lot of fun and impressive. I'm looking forward to the final release!
