  1. Finally, I can beat map 30 :). Way easier too now that killing the horde or hellknights isn't painful. I give this wad a certified (by me) 9/10 on pistol starts (plus I could have sworn some levels have ammo for weapons that are not given, but in your defense, I know sometimes they were in a secret only, plus I could be mis-remembering in other cases), and 10/10 continuous. Agree with Auron there, Definitely would be a bit less frustrating without trying to pistol start every level (lots and lots of punching and chainsawing), but I think it is super fun to have to run forward quite a ways into a level to get the weapon.

  3. I would absolutely love to just say 10/10, but one issue, map 30. (also map31 seems to have this one wall that won't go down in the small halllway area with a imp I see through the gap. unless I'm really supposed to go somewhere secret for the switch hunt to get to map 32. Also the teleporter, at least for me, seems to skip a map still.) Map 30 doesn't have a rocket launcher, or I cannot find it. I've pistol started every other level on UV, some not being able to find weapons you gave ammo for, and I cannot find the launcher in that map, the map where it matters because you lowered the romero head slightly so I cannot just shoot it. Am I dumb? Or is it not there? I see it got updated yesterday so maybe all of this is fixed.

Regardless, I'm not sure if this is dead because episode 3 didn't release this year, but Ima have to agree with the last person to say anything on the thread (just wanted to avoid bumping it), because the levels really are similar with big boxes, not to mention how many linear corridor shooting rooms there are. Like for instance, the giant hallway of monsters in map 9. This plays more like wolfenstein than doom, with it having very rare moments of verticality. The previous person meant that the levels were similar in the sense that the level design and layout was similar, not the theming, which is cool, unique, and different in every map. The custom scripting is cool and all, and so are the themes and enemies, but it doesn't really matter if the levels aren't really enjoyable to play/feel repetitive.

      Yes! Episode 3 was delayed a few months as we work to finish it. Working on it literally all the time. Sorry for not communicating this. We got so few posts on our last couple release threads that we didn’t think anybody cared about the status. We’ll post a status update soon.

       

      Thanks for your feedback. We tried to mix classic Doom design with a bit more realism in terms of layout, and this resulted in the things you mentioned at times. But we are just happy to hear someone say something at all and know that people played it, as it’s been so quiet. So thank you!

I don't think its too many, and though you are right about it being mostly closed arenas, that is part of it being called slaughter lite, the levels are clearly designed to be a large amount of incredible closed arena fights. I don't know what you mean by killing the player when they get the bfg. I loved this megawad overall.
  6. I've had absolutely no issues with the mod, incredible stuff! (*cough* unless you count the lack of a monsters only version as an issue *cough*) Just kidding its fine, I assume you didn't want to make a version for that, I didn't check out wide hud but I haven't discovered any bugs in crispy doom.

  8. Is there any way I can make the grass / dirt sounds when I shoot it not so painful on my ears, I love everything else about the mod, but the sound when I shoot it with an ssg is so painful. Not to mention the lag it causes on my low end machine tho thats my fault. Could the sound be like way quieter, and if so how do i change it myself unless you willing to help.

  10. Hi, sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you could make a version that doesn't change anything except stuff like monsters and decor. I really want to use smooth black glove weapons (blackops.wad) with this in crispy doom so the gameplay is affected but I can't run both together.
  11. For a third map, this is really good! However, I do have some criticisms, and mean no disrespect. The way in which you loop through areas is nice but everything is a bit flat, and the slaughter section just feels out of place. Things need a bit more slants and slight verticality, even just a really small staircase or ramp as opposed to just flatness (I'm not referring to the elevator, elevators are fine). You could add some rocky bits or narrow but jagged edges to the surrounding area in the outside bit, for instance. This would make a better mario kart track than a doom wad. It shows a lot of promise though, and the little flowing blood room looks really nice.
