Played doom eternal and 2016 both on my switch lite. As far as ports go they are pretty good. Tho eternal suffered far more in the graphics department with the switch port. But at least it’s the full eternal experience unlike doom 2016 which has its entire portion of snap map completely removed.

Yeah when doom guy started chugging down a bottle of whiskey during the ending of doom eternal, that got me to want to try drinking whisky but then I realized I lived in the states and the legal age of drinking was 21 and I was 20 and my mom wouldn’t allow me to get booze so I began to felt *eternal* depression literally 1984

what were some things in doom that weirdly scared you/creeped you out as a kid? for me its the retro face Easter egg death scene in doom 2016. I understand its a call back to the classic 90's doom games where doom guy's face would be displayed on the bottom center screen of the UI in Doom 93/Doom2. But as a young kid back in 2018 who didn't know much about the classic doom games. It caught me by surprise when I accidentally found out about it. Something about the facial expression. And the fact doomguy's decapitated head just just falls and bounces on the floor like that. It really startled younger me for some reason.

its a very weird/uncanny reference to the classic OG doom games from the 90s. it for some reason creeped me out as a kid.

in doom 2016 I like to sometime see all of the gruesome death animations from doomguy. they can be very brutal and frightening

My first violent game I played? I believe it was black ops zombies. I played it at a friend's house a long long time ago and wow. That game def scared me back as a small 7 year old.. I was coming off from playing games like lego star wars and mario kart wii lol! I can def see how Doom was scary for older gamers here when they were young. Just like how black ops zombies to me was scary as well. They def don't make games like this anymore..

I found out that the beta for mario sunshine was alot different compared to its final release. It's very, uncanny.. Video game betas used to be alot creepy back then 0_0

I was being generous lol. I'd say eternal is a solid 7/10 experience. Didn't want the eternal bots to be clutching their pearls and have their doom eternal undies in a twist lol. How anyone like underthec*mbucket could praise eternal to the high heavens is something I don't understand. Eternal is a janky, confused mess. The people outright defending the marauders flawed design are in denial that he just completely sucks. And I hope to never see another demon variant like that ever again in a doom game. I fear ID are going to listen to people like inderthemayo and the other doomtubers who blindly praise this game to death. As it will give ID more insensitive to deviate from the og doom formula of just shooting demons, into this over complicated monstrosity of just shit game design. I've seen this shit happen to cod zombies. And now my doom is becoming this over complicated shooter game that's all over the place with its gameplay and ideas. Doom eternal is NOT doom to me. It's Gen Z brain rot doom. It's not a bad game. Nor a mid one. It's good, but there's things within eternal that just aren't properly fleshed out or are just overall confusing or even outright BAD. I see what ID were going for with eternal, but at the same time this game should've had more time in the oven. Ffs blood punch was broken and buggy for a whole damn year. Let's just pray we NEVER get another Doom game like eternal. I just want to shoot demons and stuff..

Doomguy would never say that. Nor would he flip the bird. That's why I'm not to fond over these Brutal Doom wads (pls don't hate me: this is just my opinion). I remember seeing one of them and they had this option where doomguy would flip the bird saying the F word. To me, that felt off character for doomguy.
