  1. Nice maps, they look and sound good. Going to try to play this with real players some day. I like how zandronum's colored lights make these map look (especially map 5). Idk much about making maps look good, but I think you should experiment with lighting contrast to make open areas stand out more (most areas are fine, I just think the open area with the rocket launcher in map 3 could look better (please note, I have no idea what I am talking about)).
  2. 5 small mean maps (non slaughter) utilizing mean combat encounters designed to keep you on your toes no back tracking, no complex layouts, 100% combat focused gameplay screenies: Port: tested (with no saves) and built for dsda-doom -complevel 9, gzdoom works too and so should most other stuff if not using dsda-doom the maps can get a little dark so feel free to increase brightness note: pistol start is the intended way to play, (if you want to save, save between fights) helpful tip: read the intermission text between levels map monster counts on uv: map 1 61 map 2 67 <-- my favorite one ;) map 3 94 map 4 40 map 5 53 <-- the coolest one ;) DOWNLOAD: coolmaps.zip
  3. -- SCREENSHOTS -- -- INFO -- Wad Name: "I Throw Donkeys mapswithPlot Compilation" 5 short punchy boom compatible maps with compact fights, some maps include heavy usage of custom textures. !!! ultra violence and pistol start are recommended, uses intermission text for story reasons, so use the map command after u read the text (if u want). !!! these maps are not too difficult, only 1 map is slaughter, there are a couple of archviles but health/ammo/armor is not too rare. -- DOWNLOAD -- itdpc.zip -- SOURCEPORTS -- use gzdoom or dsda doom, do not use software rendering, jumping/crouching will result in epic games suspending ur doom account. ---- GZDOOM INFO use (extra graphics -> lights), some maps make usage of sexy lights and if u are using gzdoom, might as well use them. tested with default compatibility mode ---- DSDA DOOM INFO tested with -complevel 9 ---- OTHER other ports should also probably work but are untested -- PLOT -- you wake up to a break in. some ass hole demons tryna steal ur food and watch tv. (some are even trying to find ur hidden "homework" collection) so you evict them from ur home, and after what you have been through you decide to go to the local "bar" to get a nice drink. what could possibly go wrong? --- MAPS --- (counts are for uv, play the maps urself 2 find out the maps name) map01: monsters: 35 secrets: 3 items: 1 midi: "The Funkiest Archvile At The Party" by MFG38 source: https://www.doomworld.com/vb/thread/119576 map02: monsters: 33 secrets: 4 items: 12 midi: "Between Levels (Redux)" by silentzorah source: https://zorasoft.net/prjdoom.html (thx to lvendead for the midi recomendation) map03: monsters: 32 secrets: 3 items: 1 midi: "Crib Death" by Alfonzo source: https://www.doomworld.com/vb/thread/94402 map04: monsters: 666 secrets: 0 items: 6 midi: "Alone In Hell" by MFG38 source: https://www.doomworld.com/vb/thread/119576 map05: monsters: 293 secrets: 0 items: 5 midi: "Beautiful Drug" by Isotype source: https://www.doomworld.com/vb/thread/124673 map06: thx 4 playing map I had greater visions for this map but it got scrapped
  4. ik this idea will probably never be implemented but imagine if when you got stuck in a level, and like had no idea where to go to proceed (found every secret but not the actual way out) you could just press a key on your keyboard (the step bro key). and the sourceport would go to dsda, search for the wad you are playing, download a demo for the map you are on. and then it would play it in a small screen at the corner of the screen, the same time you play doom, so that you can just copy what the speedrunner is doing to find the exit to the level. that would be so cool. anyways, post what crazy ideas you have for doom that will never get added
  5. thanks for the play through. seems like my attempts to push players out of map 3's start with chain gunners has failed. I am also probably going to supply players with more health/armour in my next set. I am currently working on my next map set. map 2 looks like its going to be the best looking map that I have ever made so far.
  6. thanks for the play through, I enjoyed watching. I think that I have learned a few things that I am going to implement into my next map (which is probably going to be much longer) (and I got a few more devious ideas)
  7. thanks so much for playing. if you don't like map 5 (and beyond), then skip them because honestly they are not that good and deviate from the style from the first 4 maps. (on 2nd though, I think I should not have included them to begin with). but its up to you. feel free to give any feedback/ideas on how I can improve
  8. this is the first time I have ever released a map for anyone to play there are 5 maps in this wad map format is boom maps tested with pistol start, so that means you can also pistol start if you want an extra challenge recommended difficulty is hmp/uv no custom textures, sounds, or other weird stuff -- source ports -- dsda doom is the recommended source port gzdoom also works perfectly so which one you use is up to you freelook/jumping are optional but are not required the fights are designed to be somewhat cramped with decent monster counts. the first few maps are much easier compared to the rest, so skip around the levels if you feel the need to. (there are a couple of archviles, and a somewhat cramped cyberdemon fight through out these maps) the maps are designed to be short, so beating them should not take too long also note that some levels don't have secrets because I have a hard time deciding where to place them, so I end up not placing them at all (but most of them do) I have tested all the maps and have beaten them without saves on ultra violence with pistol start. par times where calculated by me playing them on hmp and going reasonably fast here are some beautiful screenies (at least I hope they are): -- DOWNLOAD -- ITHROWCOMP.zip (contains ITHROWCOMP.wad, aka I THROW COMPILATION) I am still a mapping noob, so please leave feedback! (also forgive me if the difficulty is bs or too easy, I have no friends and thus no frame of reference to as of what is too easy or too hard) lmk which maps are ur fav (mine are map1, map3, map4, map2, map5) also, if for some reason you can't figure out how to beat the first level, read the spoiler bellow (though this should not be an issue, because I tried to make that level as strait forwards as possible, so please don't get scared and run away after reading the above) thanks
