  1. Love it. If there's ever an Auger;Zenith 2, I want at least one track from Gunvein on there.
  2. "Doom if they hadn't rushed it" is always an interesting thought experiment. It's probably a much different game in a lot of ways.
  3. Maybe it's just my perception because of Doomtube, but it feels like pistol starting is the default modern way to play. Seeing a nod to continuous players in a wad from 2023 was cool.
  4. Doom's 31st anniversary is right around the corner...
  5. I was happy to see this continue to be a thing in Machete too.
  6. Well, you've piqued my morbid curiosity. That project sounds pretty awesome, I'll add it to my list.
  7. I always appreciate a nice weapon/ammo alcove. Unless you're populating an arena with supplies you'll need in the heat of the moment, it feels better to not leave stuff just lying on the ground.
  8. I just had a healthy chuckle at the length of that level's walkthrough on the wiki. Was thinking about revisiting Eternal Doom, I got up to like map 6 or 7 a few years ago, but damn...
  9. Bad as it was, I do have a healthy respect for the level, and the entire wad up to that point was a blast. In my idle time in the week since I beat it I've been replaying it in my head, thinking about what I could have done better. It's probably gonna be one I revisit eventually, once I've played other difficult stuff, to see how my skills improved. It's certainly the hardest map I've ever completed up to now.
  10. Freaking loved Amid Evil. Though a couple of those later cosmically large, non-Euclidian levels gave me legitimate motion sickness, which was a new experience for me at the time. Currently bouncing around between Spider-Man Remastered, Sniper Elite 4, and Baldur's Gate 3.
  11. Maybe not the most painful, but the most recent: was trying to beat Fire And Ice for the first time, and in my normal Weenie Hut Jr. style on maps like this I'm save scumming like crazy. I'm coming up on hour 3 of beating my head against this damn map, and I realize that at some point a dozen saves prior, I'd burnt some essential cells killing a cyberdemon who was supposed to help thin the herd in the yellow key fight. Had to content myself with only killing 707/747, because there was no way I was gonna rewind that far and listen to "You Suck" another 58 times that night.
  12. New output jack and cover plate, trying to bring the corroded guts of my Les Paul back to life.
  13. Those are two of mine for sure. Another one is also from Alien Vendetta, Toxic Touch. I only played it after watching the Dean of Doom episode on AV, and I went in purposefully trying to go against the expectations built by that level's write-up. And I still got completely absorbed, lost, and addicted.
  14. I had no idea level stats were a thing. You've made this gameplay tracking nerd's day.
