Happy to hear you liked it! Also cool to see you get inspired by the music again, reminds me I should put BLEAK in the list of stuff that uses my music. :)

What it says on the tin. Before I picked up mapping for good, I used to make ambient music under another handle. I wound up getting a bit too busy to do it regularly, but there's a lot of ambient music I made (I think well over 15 hours in total?) and I'd like to share them with other people. Feel free to use them for whatever you like. Credit not required, but I'd like to see what you make with them. :) Just a heads up: I'm not a musician and the majority of these are made only with Audacity, BeepBox and Online Sequencer...which is to say they might sound bad. Projects that use my music: If you want to listen to them before downloading anything, check my old channel out or just click on the spoilers below for some highlights. NML music pack Protocol Disposable music pack BSP Excision 10-22 I who am but ash Structure Soundtrack (new!) Link to my (poorly organized) Drive for these can be found here.

I just play Doom in general. Sometimes modded, sometimes vanilla, but mostly modded. I got into it through mods a long time ago and used only ZDoom forks, because while I don't like GZDoom I just assumed it was the best port for me - that's where the mods were at the time. Earlier this year I got into DSDA-Doom and that was an eye-opening experience. I had always wanted to play stuff like Sunder, but GZDoom's wacky architecture kept me from even experiencing it so I went looking. Saw Vesper (an MBF21 showcase gameplay mod) and absolutely fell in love with not only that port but also rediscovered Doom's default gameplay is actually pretty great...assuming the map is good, at least. I won't lie, I can't really stomach playing just vanilla for extended periods of time. I played so many WADs without mods when I first heard of Doom that I honestly just got tired of it, it doesn't help I didn't play the "good" stuff because I was not exactly good at English and had no clue where to look. The fact I had a weak and outdated computer didn't help, as I was stuck with just Doom for a very long time. This does put me at odds, since I'm basically at the center between those who like vanilla and those who like mods. Anyway, my personal golden rule is: if it has meaningful gameplay changes beyond a new monster or something, play it as-is. If not, poke around and see what works, but own up if the map breaks. There are exceptions such as Machete and Antares031's stuff, and the recent wave of MBF21-oriented projects absolutely is worth playing without mods! I also map, so I end up playing my own maps without mods to make sure they work fine. At the end of the day I play Doom for fun and not for challenge most of the time, so being able to tear through a map that killed me 10 times in vanilla with a mod that makes things easier is great too. :P

Gameplay Mod [v1.35] SUPERCHARGED BULLET RIDE - MBF21 Resource / Mod
Matt Eldrydge replied to vsared's topic in Mods & Resources
I think the original post would be as good a place as any. Doesn't need to be anything too complex, just tell us how the new weapons work and how monsters are changed (if at all). -

Finished up the yellow key area for my map just now. Tried incorporating a bit more Sunder in this one, even if it's (mostly) a platforming section!- 9895 replies

I think it's fine so long as you don't make it flicker the way that one map Xaser made for 50 Shades of Graytall. That one does warrant an epilepsy warning but it is a rad as hell effect for Boom. The standard light blink random and light flicker sector specials are fine. I know a couple people who have epilepsy and occasionally play Doom or see my maps in motion, none of them ever reported any issues so far. If anything, I'd avoid the light blink fast/slow special for large spaces or in multiple sectors close together. That one's effect seems more likely to cause issues IMO.

Planar Havoc [MBF21] - Episode 1 Alpha
Matt Eldrydge replied to RiviTheWarlock's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Took this for a quick spin and got past map 04, I really like the overall vibe of the set! I did find map 03 was a bit tight on health towards the end but so far that's my only feedback regarding supplies. I did find some small oddities in map 01 and 02, but they're pretty minor. Playing on DSDA-Doom 0.27.5, complevel 21 and on UV. I'll finish map 05 soon! Overall impressions so far are really good, if a bit hard for me. Will definitely give HMP a try when I have the time. :) -

Grungo make good effort for first map, I say. Make next map bigger with more evil spirit to PUNCH and it will be gooderer. Me think Grungo should play with lead spitter you feed red and yellow berry before spit. Good for when evil spirit is standing on rock or across river.
