  1. Have you seen this reading order? It had bugged me as well to how to approach this, but typically I am someone that likes to experience things as they were chronologically released, so that is my approach for now
  2. Man, watching the trailer all I could think of was Butcher Bay. If this game delivers on that vibe it may be what pushes me to get an Xbox or gaming PC.
  3. Hey, a Haus of Decline name drop. Haven't listened to the podcast much but absolutely love the webcomics. Anyways, as a father of two young kids, full-time employee (at a job I don't really have much passion in), and numerous creative outlets left and right, I get burn out a lot. Maybe once every 3 months? I notice that one of the things that really kicks my burnout is being on social media and being reminded of my outlook on humanity. This results in me deleting whatever app is causing me misery and honestly, I just suffer for almost a week. I'll not work on any creative stuff and I'll get lost in a mindless game if I have the time to do so. What usually guides me is that everything in life is impermanent, including the suffering of burnout. Until enough people are harmonious in taking down the bullshit system we live in, then I just try to care for myself as much as possible with the understanding that the suffering of burnout will eventually cease.
  4. Funny enough, I'm reading my first Discworld book right now. The Color of Magic.
  5. I'm in the middle of my second Cyberpunk 2077 run. Really like Phantom Liberty DLC, and this game does feel much more special the second run through - thanks to the many updates, I'm sure.
  6. I tend to order a pineapple/jalapeño pizza at any pizza delivery place to see how they compare. Not always my go-to, but I do quite enjoy it. Being very antagonistic over it just seems to be a meme-like response than anything.
  7. Currently I don't really listen to much stand up, but my favorite is Kyle Kinane. He's great with his craft. I then like the "alt comedy" stuff like Joe Pera and Connor O'Malley Historically, Bill Hicks was so damn formative to me that I will always appreciate him, even if a lot of his comedy has not aged well.
  8. God forbid someone grows up and doesn't like what they did in the past and has the option to somewhat rectify that.
  9. I am three episodes into Pluto on Netflix, and damn it is knocking me out. Sci-fi at its finest IMO. Only qualm I have is that some of the english VA is a bit lacking, but easily overlooked.
  10. tldr: conversations at a dealers house can bring change to the world
  11. My uncle likely set me up on my path of enjoying shit at a much younger age then the rest of people my age. For video games I remember learning about Doom from him. Also THPS was a big formative piece too. For music I got into nu-metal way before anyone else my age, and once they all got into nu-metal I progressed to better music. For TV I remember learning about Tom Green from him and that progressed to other MTV related shit. Strangely enough, I don't really connect to him all that much anymore. No beef or anything, just distance. I'm sure if I brought up to him how formative he was to me he'd just shrug. Hmm.
  12. My go to is a Youtube series called Zap De Cokain. It's a French viral compilation channel, some of my absolute favorites. When I watch and I'm altered, I start believing that this channel is a modern anthropologic artifact.
  13. I saw a neighborhood cat the other day - the collar said his name was Mr. Kitten. Absolutely smitten
  14. Congrats on putting out a book! Writing is a special labor. I have yet to ever play these wads before. What do you think, would it be interesting to read the book prior to playing them? Or best to play them first?
  15. At one job there were two dudes that kinda had their own crypto club and talked about crypto all the time. I overheard one of them say how he had poured like $15k of his savings into it. This was a few years ago, and he was also someone that fell for a phishing scam and bought $200 worth of Target gift cards for someone posing as his boss. My thoughts on crypto? I just hope that it doesn't ruin my old coworkers life and other people's lives.
  16. God my heart just warms whenever I see an invictius post on top of Popular Now. I'd be more concerned about the other medical issues that are the result of such poor dental hygeine
  17. Playing Alan Wake 2 and so far I think its so damn incredible. Best way to describe it is as one of the best 8/10 games ever
  18. I know the meaning of the word politics is malleable, but politics always exist so long as there's a society and society wants some form of rules, laws, and norms.
  19. @Kinsie I'm still a sucker that uses macOS. One of these days I'll likely get a gaming PC and I can go that route.
  20. I bought a Miyoo Mini + a while ago and that has been my pride and joy in checking out older games that I had played as a kid but never actually finished. I want to get into PS2 emulation, solely because I have yet to ever play Silent Hill 2 and would like to get close to the original before the (possibly bust) remake comes out
  21. There was some sci-fi space show that also lumped Musk along with Edison, Einstein, and other people. I'm admittedly a big Dan Harmon fan through Community, and boy what a pickle he's put in. I know on his podcast he spoke fondly of Musk pre-pedo-guy scenario, but he most likely would absolutely hate Musk's guts now.
  22. It's true, but also politics will greatly affect peoples lives, and depending for some there are people's politics that will actively try to harm others. It would be great if it was all mundane bullshit, but unfortunately it's not.
  23. I finally deleted the Twitter app, along with the Instagram app. My connection to anything social online is now a discord group with some friends, Substack, and Doomworld. Here's to hopefully loving myself more than hating myself
  24. When you say far-left I'm imaging like actual communists or anarchists. Which, would be nearly antithetical for them trying electoral politics and would certainly not get elected outside of some weird covert shit. But this country is so whack that far-left is anything to the left of Mitt Romney. I think @coderamen is thinking more politicians in the vein of Rashida Tlaib and AOC (the non-compromising version of AOC) so that they actually have a caucus that can wield influence. Which is certainly possible
  25. Yes, I can make say my opinion before this gets locked. Ever since becoming a parent I have dug into despising the US. Both my wife and I have well-paying jobs and its a constant struggle. The Expanded Child Tax Credit would help (but not fix the issue of childcare being so damn expensive), but then Joe Manchin killed it. Fuck him. I absolutely resent that this country makes parenting miserable when it shouldn't be - unless you have retired grandparents then you are tossed in the ringer of misery. And of course there's the general rants of the things the US can be a shitstain about, but I don't want to be the one that pushes this thread to be locked. As far as Minnesota, I'm at least proud that the state tries better than my home state of Wisconsin. But winter is coming soon and I am looking forward to waking up before the sun rises and breathing in frigid air - no sarcasm.
