Thank you, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with him yet. I may end up using him in the future and anyways I don't have all the sprites done
-
A year or two ago I made sprites for a "Medic Zombie" who heals himself and other demons and a "Gladiator" with an auto-shotgun. Kinda lame I know but I was bored. I think I just wanted to have monsters who dropped health and armor bonuses lol. Fully implemented them too, but I'll probably never end up using them in an actual wad

what are you working on? I wanna see your wads.

I'm working on a 10 level, industrial themed wad. I got 2 maps done so far. I'll try to get some screenshots up later -
Nucleolar (Limit-Removing DOOM map)
Dahbeez replied to elio_2.exe's topic in WAD Releases & Development
It's alright! It's a super easy fix. It also just comes with practice and also testing a million times. After awhile you'll start to figure out how players are capable of breaking your maps and you just have to try to account for that lol. I get so sick of looking at my maps after testing for the 1000th time lol -
Hello! I played both of your maps. I always want to encourage people to keep mapping because it's tons of fun and it's one of my favorite hobbies. Map2's sewer section reminds me exactly of the first map I ever made. It almost looked exactly like that lol! Just keep going because you're only going to get better. In fact, I noticed that map 2 has a nicer layout than the first map. So you're already improving. Here are some noteworthy things I found during my playthrough:
-
I did this one on map 7 of my wad called Lost Underworld. As soon as you start, there are imps throwing fireballs at you from afar. Directly behind you, there are some shotgunners. So if you start shooting at the imps right away, the shotgunners will start blasting you from behind, but if you let the fireballs fly passed you, they'll usually knock out a barrel by the shotgunners and it'll blow them up. Idk I tried to make it something different. I've done a lot of different starts. Usually I like when you start and there's a bunch of enemies in front of you, but they all have their backs turned to you so you can get a layout of the area a bit before you aggro them.

Just an update, I finished map 2 and 6. I'm not sure if I'm going to upload them or if I should just keep the 3 level demo I have currently. Anyways, that's 5 out of 9 maps done. -

Update: I fixed some potential issues Brutal Doom might cause with breaking certain functions with keys. Also removed an Invisibility Sphere that was impossible to obtain LOL. Completely forgot I added that when I first started making map 5. Hopefully it's good to go, please let me know of any issues at all -

haha my bad. It should be fixed now -
"Lost Underworld" is a full 9 level Episode for Doom 2. Lost Underworld pits the Doom Marine shotgun first against an unfamiliar realm of Hell with ancient architecture and technology. You must find out just what's happening in this once forgotten place and put a stop to it once and for all. In addition to 9 new levels, LU also includes a handful of new textures, 3 new skies, a few custom sounds and a couple of new songs. After 5 months of work, it's finally finished and ready for all of you to play. For now, this wad is compatible with Gzdoom, however I will update this to include other limit removing ports in the future. I've been making doom maps for about five years, but this is my first ever project I've unveiled to the public. I would very much appreciate any and all feedback! It's out now! Idgames link: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/j-l/lostunder GzDoom Doom II Singleplayer - A 9 level episode campaign (Including a secret level) - Plenty of secrets - Mostly Doom 1 & 2 music with a few new midis sprinkled in - 3 new custom skies - Decently tough at times - Designed for no jumping, as it can break level progression - Designed for pistol start - Designed for ALL skills - Ghoulish decor and architecture! - Made for GzDoom (for now) - Made for Doom 2 - "Hell Extermination": This level starts you off in a hellish compound overrun with zombiemen and imps. A pair of demon warp portals link your way through the base. Be sure to take a breath of fresh air outside. - "Coffin Fodder": This crypt has countless slaughtered corpses making up the walls and crevices. Meat seeps down from the cracks. Brown sludge fills the underground halls. Many of the torture chambers are still active. - "Storming the Fortress Wall": This level has you running and gunning your way through an onslaught of demons along metal structures inside of a mountainous ravine. A green, marble fortress wall awaits you at the end. Make sure to explore the ravine! Fun fact, this level was originally called "Imp Cave," which featured an Imp nest inside of a large cavernous ravine. - "Inhumane Imprisonment": This level sees the Doom Marine having to work his way through a glowing, red maze, while dealing with unwelcome guests. Look out for secrets! Fun Fact, this level took me the longest to make so far, as I kept revising it over and over again. This map had so many changes, it would be impossible to list them all here. It used to have a big outdoor area with multiple lowering rock platforms surrounded by lava, as well as a Cyberdemon fight towards the end. - "Soulless Whispers": This level is a sandbox type map with four islands surrounded by lava lakes and a large castle wall. Three of the islands have buildings with their own challenging gauntlets with a colored key at the end of each one. The other island's building is a hub room with some equipment for your journey, and the exit door with three color-coded locks. Watch out for incoming rockets! Fun fact, I had a pretty clear vision for this level from the start. However, there used to be a hellish-tech interior inside of the wooden building, as well as an Egyptian pyramid as one of the island buildings. - "Dark Literature": The old libraries of the crumbling castle are filled with corrupted writings. Many of hell's meanest still walk the halls. An old scripture states that there might be a hidden teleporter somewhere hidden in the castle. - "Overgrown Keep": What was once the battle sector of the ancient city is now overgrown with vines and foliage. The ancient demon king's honor guard still patrols the Courtyard after centuries. His cybernetics have kept him alive and his brain intact. He's still searching for trespassers long after the ancient city fell. - "Final Destination": It's time to meet who's responsible for the lost underworld invasion. Get equipped and get ready to end this cursed hell city and the torture within. There's an army waiting for you, but they stand no chance against your arsenal. - "Chaotic": The secret level features many traps and dead explorers who tried to reap its rewards. A hell storm brews in the sky as you trek on. This is your greatest challenge yet, so be prepared for Chaotic's tricks. Only the best warrior will uncover the spoils of this lost island. I started this project on April 22nd, 2023 and finished on January 24th, 2024. However, it's never done when I think it's done! So please feel free to let me know if any bugs are present or if a certain section of a level is busted. I'm also going to include compatibility with other limit removing ports like Eternity, Doomsday and so on. So stay tuned for that. All of the 9 maps are made by me. Special thanks to My fiance Bri for sitting with me and watching me map for hours upon hours on end. I seriously couldn't have done it without her! Thank you for checking my project out!
