In the cover art their eyes appear to consist of a bloodshot sclera, dark green iris, and black dilated pupil.

I will believe it when I see it. Year Zero sounds lame though tbh, and tons of rumors surrounding Id have turned out to simply be bootyhole smoke.

The philosophy that goes into making a good map

Every good map to one person is another persons idea of a shit one. Just make what you would like to play as if someone was map-catering to you personally. -

What is it everyone is confused about other than why they’re trying to kill their engine? I don’t think anyone is confused on how ridiculous this policy is. Also, the changes will be mostly non-changes. Just rewording to make it basically the same shit but written in a way it is easier to miss what is really going on.

After Doomguy kills the icon of sin, Freddy Krueger appears from within and kills Doomguy and says “That’s one doomed space marine!”. It was all a nightmare and Doomguy’s soul makes Freddy stronger than ever. You see, Doomguy was born on Elm Street so he was on Freddy’s to do list. Doomguy fell asleep in the barracks and never left. In other words, I don’t know. I don’t think I ever completed the older fallout games.

Aim small, miss small. Lots of people are too ambitious from the start. Either they want to make something incredibly elaborate without understanding the inner workings of the engine, or they want to make something such as a megaWAD, or both. Focus on making a level that you find fun yourself and go from there, not just something to try to impress everyone or to just get something out there in a hurry. Take your time.

I’m not trying to start a heated argument, and sure maybe I was a bit baity to say “skill issue” initially and have been condescending at times. I just disagree with the notion that bunnyhopping is the only way to win and that multiplayer deathmatch is one-tracked style of gameplay. I have been playing games like Q3A since their release, not just for 5 years when the majority of players have long since moved on, and the industry itself has mostly moved on from legitimate deathmatch anyhow when many shooting games don’t even have multiplayer or do not have a dedicated deathmatch mode of play. I find titanfall 2 to be a pretty weird example to use against games that came out decades prior, too.

1) If that were the case, then there would’ve been no reason for this thread in the first place if the majority agrees upon it. 2) Because your point of view screams “I played multiplayer a few times and lost, then saw a couple of random YouTube videos and here I am to tell you why the genre is dead”.

No, I will not be quiet. You’re the one who started this “discussion” in the first place by making this thread, so don’t try to shut people up that disagree. Deathmatch is far more complex than you’re making it out to be. If you think it’s just mindless circling around and can only be approached one way then you have not played enough matches with a wide variety of players.
