  1. If the people of that time enjoyed Doom '93 I think they definitely would have loved what Hall was thinking of, or at least on a technical scale.
  2. I whole heartedly believe it started when myhouse.wad got discovered by YouTube, reddit, and TikTok. It was the tri-yearly defibrillation of this three-decade-old franchise and so did come the people re-discovering/just realizing the modding potential of the old games - along with that, stupid posts. That's it, I think. Maybe I'm just salty about that damn mod's fanbase but being both a Doom fan and a browser of the aforementioned social medias, I had seen how an influx of people coming to dick-around on places like this can have a drastic effect on a congregation of videogame fans. On the contrary, you have the oldheads being cunts towards new posters. Not exactly a preferable alternative.
  3. For some time now, I've been interested in taking in-game photos and recordings of Doom 3's scenery and locations. I'm able to take pretty good screenshots with steam as is, but my hud and weapons are still in the way. I'm assuming there's some kind of program out there or maybe even a mod which will allow me to capture HD pics and videos (or at least I hope so). Yes, I have thought about using console commands to get rid of monsters and weapons, and after I get done with this play through, I'm going to try that. In the mean time I'd like to figure out if there's a "cleaner" way to go about it. For what it's worth I'm playing the BFG edition through steam. Thanks.
  4. Suppose I don't hate any of them on a technical scale, I think they all searve their in-game purpose fine. Literally speaking, I hate them all. The only good demon is a dead one.
  5. There are tons of wads/levels that have scary hell-themed areas, but I want to know your opinion... What wads do you think feel like could actually be where bad people go when they die? I don't just mean biblically-accurate depictions, but whatever it is you think Hell looks like/should look like.
  6. Aside from the architecture, when playing a custom Doom wad, I pay attention to literally NOTHING. After I fire up a custom wad made for Doom, my end goal is to make it to the end of the level(s) as quickly as possible and kill any demon that comes between me and that goal. I don't pay attention to enemy placement, I don't stop for every item (unless I absolutely need it), I don't try and adventure across the map or kill every remaining enemy, and I most definitely don't hunt for secrets. If there is a keycard needed to activate the exit, finding that colored key is all that matters. Not the secret backpack hidden behind a purposefully misaligned texture, not the last few hit scanners in a room I didn't check, and not the three health bonuses I missed at the player start. Worst of all, if I find a bug or somehow manage to slip into an area without flipping the proper switch, I will not go back. I will take advantage of it. Unfortunately, this hinders my ability to accurately play and rate other people's maps, though I try my best.
  7. The music is very anxiety inducing, I must say. Where's it from?
  8. Being a dick towards people who are still learning isn't going to help anything.
  9. Never liked him. But it wasn't until his recent columbine mod video--in which he spread massive amounts of misinformation and blatant lies--that I lost the last tiny bit of respect that I mighttt have had for him. Not to mention he's obsessed with talking about Eric Harris for some reason.
  10. I feel the same way! It can either decrease or increase my stress. Sometimes it distracts me from what's stressing me out, but other times I'll find myself clicking furiously to add linedefs while tapping my foot, ultimately making matters worse. And then sometimes I'll add a custom comment on a random vertex in the map detailing my current mood or what's bothering me.
  11. Congrats on having the balls to post anything school related here. You know how that usually goes... Fun map!
  12. I meant giving a chainsaw, but turning into one would be pretty damn cool, too
  13. IDDEMON - Turns you into a demon IDARCH - Spawns an Archvile on a random spot in the map:-) IDSAW - Chainsaw! (These would suck in game, I just thought they sounded cool)
  14. I thought of something similar but with the whole catch being levels based around song titles from a singular album. No idea if that would work, though.
