I had a crazy thought of making a map set in which berserked fist is your only weapon. Would it be fun? and how can I make it fun? or do I just make normal stuff cuz im a mapping noob and probably have no idea about how to handle it properly...

You must choose between all WADs before or after 2010.

If Iwads count, pre-2010, simply because of plutonia. -
Early January of 2023, my brother got me a month of XGP as a new year gift. He recommended some cool stuff like stardew and sniper elite, but the only thing I played was Wolfenstein 3D and Doom 1 re-release simply because I'm curious about old stuff, things that predates me. Wolf 3D is too mazy and boring so I stick with doom. Got sucked in immediately and finished E1~3 on HMP in like a few days. I'm a pretty tolerant person so I enjoyed even the worst maps you guys might think... EDIT: Initially I never thought doom would have a sequel, but after watching decino's analysis videos I wondered "revenants? Arch viles? Where are they?" And I realised Doom 2 was a thing. Went to steam and purchased doom 1 & 2 and also finished E4. Later I also heard there is this final doom thing so i went ahead and finished tnt. Still on my way of beating plutonia, I specifically chose a UV pistol-start blind run for plutonia, and the first 10 levels are a lotta fun.

Last night I had a dream where I get to fight against a baron with my fist in a techno base. (Compwall & blue floors) It went wrong very quickly (I cant remember in what way but I assume certain parts of the room corrupted), so I quit the fight to inspect the map. For some reason the baron room wasnt even a sector (like in the editor its a enclosed shape without a floor texture). I remember I fixed it but I dont know what I did next. Dreams are hard to memorize. I watched zero master's E2 uv max run last night so I guess it's related to that? For some reason recently Im having more dreams than ever. Dont know why.

Yeah I was focusing on the aesthetics a bit too much. Thanks for the advice. The intent didn't really exist except "it's a factory that spits out demons", and the whole design is just to make the whole map look compact in the automap instead of branching out everywhere. Maybe I can put some teleporters here and there, or have new areas and corridors, or secret areas like sewers, ventilation tubes to fix the problem. When I was playtesting I just blew up everything with the BFG. -

Doom 1 (the unity port)... in January 2023. I got it in xbox game pass that my brother gifted a month to me. He recommended stuff like Stardew, Sniper Elite and all the cool stuff, but the only things I played were Wolfenstein 3D and Doom 1. Wolf 3D was boring and mazy so I ditched it real quick. On the other hand, Doom hooked me instantly and I finished all three episodes in like a single continuous run on HMP. (Thy Flesh Consumed was finished after I purchased the game myself on steam) I feel like I'm the weird backwards-going guy in the post-2000-born kids.

I was uploading my updated wad and I noticed the UI looks far more advanced with two rows and colorful buttons, instead of the plain basic HTML text and buttons. (Being a post-2000-born doomer I figured I dont have the audacity to say "90's feel") Is this welcoming change made recently or my browser just messed up in the past?

Use arch-vile jumps to get to the secrets. I didn't put these invulnerability for no reason. -

I was able to spot and fix the problem. The reason is, the door tracks are two-sided linedefs for some reason, and the re-release can't really handle that. My bad. Thanks for the feedback. After the re-upload you will be able to carry your ssg all day long. -

@EmoLevelDesigner ok I was able to replicate the problem. The level runs fine in crispy doom (and prboom+ along with GZDoom), which I prefer over the re-release. Here's a link: https://crispy-doom.org/# You need to copy the wad files to the game directory though. -

@EmoLevelDesignerwait... the steam re-release or the dosbox one? what name is your source port exactly? I tried to load my pwad into the re-release and it doesn't load whatsoever, just stock doom2. -
