  1. The title got cut off on the link I used to get here, so I legit was thinking it was gonna say "Good DOOM 2 WADS you'd report to the police"
  2. You know, I do have some screenshots of what I've cooked up so far (These were taken with the -nomonsters flag set) I call it "Undertrenches" It's got a very wartime aesthetic, especially with the prominent pipewal2 trenches (Undertrenches as I like to call them, from which this level gets its name) I tried to make the Underhalls influences very prominent in the interior areas and the undertrenches themselves, and keep the Well of Souls influences as more of an undertone throughout the whole map, being most noticeable in the exterior areas where the sky and the mossy, gray cliffs can be seen Any thoughts?
  3. Could you spread us all out some more instead? I'm all for more variety, but asking people to change what maps they're doing so much is a little bit much to ask tbh I think with just 3 maps sourcing from Well of Souls out of a full 32, it's probably fine as long as they're all distinctive in their own ways. Just don't let any more in
  4. Changing wouldn't be a problem for me, I just picked Congo because I wanted an exterior level to contrast Underhalls How does Well of Souls instead of Congo sound? (Is there seriously not a single archvile in Well of Souls? Damnit, and I had such good plans for them too...)
  5. Is there a deadline or are we just going until we finish? Because this seems like a pretty fun project, but I'm not gonna join if there's gonna be a ton of pressure I'd like to do a fusion of Underhalls from Doom 2 and Congo from Plutonia, and the slot doesn't really matter to me, but I'll pick slot 5 just because
  6. That has got to be the most creative use of that specific skull flat I've ever seen
  7. IDK if I have a favorite but Adam Smasher is certainly up there I've never even played Cyberpunk but I've watched enough clip shows on Youtube to know about what his deal is
  8. Idk man let me ask the indomitable human spirit Edit: The indomitable human spirit says yes
  9. Just made a basic pickup truck for a Freedoom map I'm working on, it's not as impressive or good-looking as some of the other vehicles here but that's probably just because it's 100% vanilla and only uses vanilla Freedoom textures I haven't detailed the rest of the lot yet, but I'll be working on it
  10. Speaking of saving, one thing I like to do is just load up Doom 2 or smth, play until I die, and then quit the game without saving. I can usually reach the Factory before I get murked by the bullshit lowering platform shotgunner room, if I don't die to one of the inescapable death pits in Tricks and Traps Honestly it's somehow less frustrating to have to restart from the very beginning of the game than it is to have to restart from the beginning of the level, I think you should try it sometime
  11. The sound design of DUSK (It is required by law to write it like that) is great, nice and chunky, just feels good man Ultrakill's sound design is just legendary tho, it just radiates power
  12. (This should have gone in Everything Else, but whatever) If there's a dedicated, general Half Life forum, I haven't heard of it, but in Everything Else you can just discuss Half Life if you want It's a little tacky to post a whole bunch of topics about an unrelated game series there, but that kind of stuff is what it's there for
  13. Ok, yeah, Strife isn't turn-based and doesn't have companions that follow you around to my knowledge, but this still reminds me of Strife tbh
  14. I recommend you buy the classic bundle on Steam, which will not only provide you with the WADs for Doom 1 and 2, but will also let you play Doom 64 as a bonus (For the most part it's better than Doom 1, but you don't have to keep playing once you kill your first cyberdemon tbh) If you don't wanna spend any money, you can also download Freedoom like I did before I got myself a copy of Doom 1 and 2. Honestly even after you get the original game, Freedoom is still good to keep around, it's tons of fun to map for with the amount of textures it adds, and it's also just really well done in general, especially with the new update GZDoom is the best engine for modding, what with how it has its own coding language and all. If content modding is your goal and you don't care about mapmaking, that's the port you wanna use. Otherwise I don't really know much about modding, I've used Zscript before but the most complex thing I've made with it is an unreleased map that makes use of it for teleporting monster ambushes
