I lacked anything better to title this thread, and since the end result will probably be the same no matter what I title this thread I figured, why the fuck not? Anyways, now for the banworthy bit, I am leaving doomworld, the doom community, and etc. Maybe not all of it, and maybe not forever (though undoubtely this place is a forever), but yeah, I'm gone. Something about needing to get my priorities straight or some other such crap. I can see you all asking "Why do I care?" I hope you don't, I just felt like writing this shit down. Neways.

I realize that DWF is probably one of the worst places imaginable to ask for advice, but theres nobody else that I'd like to bother about this.
Pretty much I would like opinions on whether I should stay in college or not. I've done it for half a semester and while the social stuff (off campus of course) is really great going to class and learning is pretty shitty. And its looking pointless. I know a lot of people that have spend years and thousands to get a degree only to work a rather low salary job that might not even be related to their field. I also know a lot of people straight out of high school who get a job and make not quite as much, but arent paying back student loans. Along with this I just fucking hate college. But all these people expect shit of me, so its like I have to stay, and in some ways I feel as if I have to stay. Also I have to get a job before I can just walk out of here. So if some sagely blog reader person would care to dispense their wisdom that would be just great -
It may not be the best thing I've ever bought, but its looking quite interesting. Its got 3k of wads on it, most of which I'm assuming to be crap. However, I did a search for a random lot of them and found only 1 out of 10 I searched for in the archive, so at least they're new (er, in a sense). And with 3k its impossible for all of them to be crap, especially with my love of old wads.

Greetings fellow Doomers. HobbsTiger1 here to give you what has to be the worst week in /newstuff history. Really, it just plain sucks. Not only do you have a new reviewer (who sucks) but you have the lowest number of WADs that can be put into one of these things and it actually occur. To find out what little more there is, read on. (Bloodshedder's note: There's a couple of reasons why this /newstuff is so darn small. The first is that Ty Halderman lives (or used to, rather) in New Orleans, but he had to evacuate way back on August 28th due to hurricane Katrina. Second, the entire reason we have this /newstuff is that pritch forgot to review this WAD last week. Hopefully next week there will be more.) tectonic - Christopher Burgess doom2.exe - Solo Play - 171 KB - This wad is sort of a mixed bag. The layout of the map is nice, though sometimes going back and forth from place to place was a bit annoying, and the lack of monsters didn't help. The monsters in general were far too easy, there weren't nearly enough, and they weren't varied enough. Even on UV the map was a cakewalk. Weapon and ammo placement was a bit bettter, but still were not placed in the most optimal spots in the map, giving you new weapons too quicky after you just got one. This map shines most in its use of detail and textures. Athough it wasn't used well everywhere, the detail was prety nice, and made the map a lot more tolerable than it would have been without the fairly good eye candy. Texture choice wasn't bad either, though it needed changes and realignments in some spots. My biggest problem with the textures was the opening area was overly brown. All in all its a nice map, fun for a quick go, but thats about it because the map is too short. However, if quick runs are your thing, and you admire detail, grab it.

This is a blog right? OK then words better left at home are going to be used to describe today. First I go to work. I'm only 18 but unlike most folks in the world I have a decent job for a first one. I don't work at a fast food chain, or drycleaners, or some shit like that. I'm an IT assistant for the county I live in. It's not a bad job, I get paid 15 bucks an hour, but god damn these people are stupid. I got sent out for one lady last night that "couldn't access the internet." Yes boys and girls, she deleted the IE shortcut. Also last night some fucking idiot "lost ability to print." There was no paper in the laser printer. I realize you can't tell at a glance whether paper is in the piece of shit or not, but really, think. Usually I deal with real problems (theres no lack of those), but yesterday it was like idiot land. Like people confused their ass with their brain.
