  3. B.P.R.D. - Let's get this name outta the way. Imagine "The Mucus Flow Episode II: Attack of the Nose". Death-Destiny - As contentious as he was, his "mucuscore" levels were something else. Also I'm still mad about Dark Plutonia never being a thing. Jens Nielsen - Imagine the absolute furore Jens' maps would cause if he hasn't been keeping tabs on what modern Doom mapping is nowadays - his 90s-style switch mazes would arrest even the most patient and powerful speedrunners. Anthony "Adelusion" Czerwonka - Who's up for Dystopia 4, GothicDM3 or Requiem 2? Iikka Keränen - Give him GZDoom or EE and see what he does with sector/line/edge portals. When it came to verticality, Iikka was on a whole other level back in the 90s and would probably continue to astound today. Mike "Cyb" Watson - Void 2 or Massmouth 3. :( Pls. Kurt Kesler and/or Tommie "Fatal" Quick - We need more love for single-player ZDoom maps and episodes that are just "cool Doom maps" with a few extra interesting features to make the maps "pop", rather than being blockbuster GZDoom projects which focus heavily on visuals and technical flair. Doom: Resurrection is a favorite of mine to revisit, and not that many people are making 'em like KZDoom anymore. Gusta & MethoD - [insert link to "annual KS2 begging thread"]

This album on the whole covers many current affairs, chiefly political, but centres primarily on the need for immediate and decisive action being taken in order to tackle our most pressing issues (many of which our politicians turn a blind eye to – hence the album cover), both as a society and as a species – for we are a tiny speck on the scale of time, and should try to go to lengths to look out for ourselves and for our planet, while we still last. The introductory track "Epiphany" sets the stage by giving background via spoken word on the discovery of the geological unconformity at Siccar Point in 1788 by Scottish scientist James Hutton, which gave rise to the idea of "deep time" and that the Earth was in fact billions of years old, challenging widely-held beliefs that our planet's age was a little over six thousand years. Scottish songwriters Karine Polwart and Dave Milligan's musical piece "Siccar Point" focuses also on the subject of deep time and of our collective finity in the face of time’s great expanse, which are revisited here in my music to bring the album to a close on the title track "Abyss of Time". 8. Have played through the whole thing. Technically, this is pretty marvellous. You've made something very immersive and used the GZDoom engine absolutely to its fullest potential here. The house is lushly detailed, and the environments are faultless. You've definitely created something that hearkens back to times of being a child, and I'm sure that this will transport players back to their youth like it did in a similar way for me. Clearly, the way certain events unfold in this is inspired by the lives and the creativity of your children. It's very unique to see the much younger generation having a hand in creating a Doom mod, of all things, especially when they happen to be the children of a long-time ZDoom mapper. Leaving aside the stunning visuals, I do have a couple complaints with the gameplay. The overall structure of the puzzles is hard to get to grips with especially when you walk so slowly and the house layout (especially later on) can get tricky to navigate. I racked up 130+ minutes of in-game time and I definitely played for more than that due to needing to rely on a backup save or two. Transitions between floors do take a bit too long. Maybe only show these stairway transitions once per level? The inventory system and Strife dialog felt clunky. I found myself carrying portable items that I couldn't use and didn't seem to serve a visible purpose. Picking things up with mouse2 I feel should not be limited to only when you have a weapon holstered. This felt overly cumbersome especially when many puzzles involve you moving physical objects into the right location. The objectives display surely can use one keybind to toggle it on or off, rather than you needing to press "use" to close it once it's opened. The level complete screen led me to believe that I would be rewarded for damaging more (or fewer?) objects in the house, but this was never communicated during the game. I noticed certain actions (but I don't know which ones specifically) triggered the mom's picture to appear on my screen and give me points(?). I never figured out what this meant, probably because her picture appeared in the very top-right corner at a position that was mostly completely off-screen, and I may have missed some crucial nuance that would've communicated this better. Maybe this was down to my resolution/aspect ratio? Again, great work technically, except for these minor gripes. However... this mod left me with a great deal of questions further to the issues I had with the gameplay. Sometimes these questions amused me, but other times (most times, to be frank), they left me stunned and deeply confused. I'll spoil this next bit because anyone who wants to play this definitely will have their view of this mod coloured a certain way upon reading what I have to say below. I wish I could love this, because this seems like a really deep passion project you've had in the works for some considerable time, but I am honestly still so confused and I can't in good conscience say I enjoyed playing the full thing. I can only commend it for its technical achievements. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear from me.
  9. Make that spin and we've got another key for Heretic. :D
  10. Accessing the backrooms is done by entering one of many empty sectors which encase every single area of the map you can access in legitimate play. It's virtually impossible to noclip to areas beyond whichever one you're presently in as a result - this is deliberately done to curtail sequence breaking. You could potentially get around using the "warp" console command but you'd need to enter pretty exact coordinates to get to where you want to be.
  11. Of course it's a matter of copyright. Do you they would've actually tried to reach out to the five guys in the band (or rather, their legal representatives) and been like "hey uhhhh can we use your music in this Bethesda-sanctioned Doom modification"?
  12. Gutted I couldn't go, but my work and social life have, as of the last few months, become insanely hectic - to the point where I couldn't focus on getting things sorted to make it. I'm making it my mission to make 2024. There will be Jimmy.
  13. It doth bang hard. Vel's riffs here are absolute facemelters. Hats off to him for writing that stomper of an instrumental! Was great fun to sing over.
  14. All five of these maps are their own special brand of awesome. Hats off to the BTSX team!
  15. The Doom 2 rock variants look so much more in keeping with the visual style of Heretic than the Wolfenstein walls, so I'd very much go with those.
