  1. Just been reading through this thread in the hopes of some vaguely positive words about the optional music, and the scant few posts in it that mention me/my work specifically seem to be... on the snarky side, bordering on hurtful - even when framed as compliments. Dunno what warranted all this...
  2. I've uploaded five short commentary videos on the lyrical and inspirational background behind each of the five tracks on this record. Hope you guys enjoy! See full playlist of track commentaries
  3. I really enjoyed this! Visually very cohesive and reminiscent of the original Hexen, while having puzzle design that wasn't unintuitive or overcomplex at any point. Some great settings, particularly Lake Lachrymose. On my playthrough (Fighter, Berserker difficulty) I ran into a couple of the same navigational difficulties mentioned so far, with regards to key points of progression blending in with surrounding architecture or simply being way too dark to see - my recommendation here is to generally make switch inlets brighter to make them easier to see from a distance, and/or place torches (or other bright objects) at key junctures to guide the player's eyeballs to certain doors or stairwells that are a mandatory part of progression. I also hit a few snags with switches that were placed in the "on" position as opposed to "off". There were two or three of those gray skull switches that started out as illuminated, and so given that I have the memory of a sieve made of multiple goldfish, I naturally assumed I'd already hit them. I never got tremendously lost though, and naturally circled back to those switches once I figured out what had happened. I didn't find all the segments of the ultimate weapon or the secret level, but I think I'll give this another go and see if I do any better. There was a moment here in Forsaken Forest where I got myself stuck with no escape, although I had a Chaos Device so all wasn't lost. Is this teleporter meant to function?
  4. Earthless's full version is in production, but it's had a few hitches due to some fairly prolonged creative droughts and poor planning on my part. I need to get back into the habit of Twitch streaming the progress I've been making.
  5. This is gorgeous. The visuals are frankly stunning and the storytelling is amazingly well done. Some incredible moments of dialogue with the dogs, as well - you don't have to be a dog person to love this. Right out of the gate you're greeted with a map that clearly has had unfathomable amounts of love and care poured into it in the wake of a personal tragedy, which makes its gameplay and story all the more impactful. As someone who has channelled feelings of grief into a Doom map before, I hope you heal well from this loss over time, however long it takes.
  6. Thanks for your comments so far, everyone! Have two more videos that came out when the EP dropped - for the songs "Citylife" and "Remains to be Seen".

  8. PURCHASE/STREAM "INVASIVE" EP LISTEN TO "INVASIVE" EP ON SPOTIFY OUT NOW! Many thanks to @Velvetic for his stomping production/mixing, and @KeaganDunn for his unwavering assistance with the lyric and music videos. And as a special treat, check out the video for "Ungrateful". This video was sprung on me as a surprise, and features the musical performances of @Dragonfly and @Tristan who play drums and bass, respectively. Of course I had to feature my own singing in the video as well, and the end result is (imho) very pleasing indeed. I really hope you all enjoy! Thank you so much again, guys! Means a lot to me that you'd get involved with all these crazy new musical adventures of mine. :D
  9. OUT NOW! I'm back at it again, making music. This time round I'm releasing an EP of five tracks, covering various themes around invasion, such as: the global pandemic, drone warfare, street violence, colonisation, and at its most morbid, death. This one is more metal-oriented than my previous album "Desync", but there's still plenty of my usual electronic influences at play. If you're subscribed to my Patreon you can get an EARLY LOOK at the WIP tracks for the album. Hope you enjoy! 10. @Kevansevans Where were YOU on March 2, 2023 @ 9pm western time?!?!
  11. You know what I reckon you should do instead? 1. Save up some money. 2. Find an actual, non-artificial human musician who can make music. 3. Give them some of your money. 4. They will make music! For you! Good music too, hopefully! I know this isn't very "communism", but if you have any manners or respect for your fellow creators, you will compensate them for their work.

Two months is the legal limit in the UK, he can't force you out any sooner than that. I used to rent out a few places some years ago so I have a bit of landlord experience. If he does try anything funny like saying you need to get out earlier or any other fishy business feel free to get in touch for any advice etc....

Hope all goes well though Jimmy in finding a new place.

Damn, being evicted sucks. Moving is a pain in the ass at the best of times. Good luck finding a place and do keep us updated

  13. A bunch of shitpost-y Plutonia-style levels for the Doom 2 IWAD. (Probably best experienced while chuffing back a fat dart or however it is you guys say it idk I never smoked) These maps arose from a few scatterbrained voice-chats back in 2022. They have not been extensively playtested or balanced. I don't know exactly why it's taken this long for us to put this out, but 4/20 seems as good a time as any. 14. I beg your pudding I did no such thing.
  15. Thanks for your very appreciating and understanding responses, guys. Hope I didn't April Fool you too hard. :P Obviously I wanna stick with making both Doom and Quake maps if it can be helped. I seem to be busy with all sorts of things lately but will always make time for mapping whenever I can - creativity permitting. I appreciate the feedback on the Quake map! Some more livestreams of me experimenting with TrenchBroom are definitely planned for the future.
  16. I've entered the Zone of Gorpus Schrompf and found the Undiscovered Information. Donk bung.
  17. Sorry, guys, gals, neithers, boths and in-betweens. It's been a great 15 years that I've been in this community but I'm officially stepping down as a Doom mapper! I recently picked up TrenchBroom again and I simply cannot hide it any longer: the undistilled ease with which I've been able to put together extremely satisfying custom Quake maps has far, far exceeded the joy that Doom has brought me even over the last decade-and-a-half. I have moved on, nay, transcended to a new medium, and have now seen the light - 3D is better than 2.5D, in every way conceivable. Henceforth, my myriad in-progress Doom projects have been put on permanent hold - this includes "Realms of Zoon", "A Boy and His Barrel", "Earthless: Reprelude", "Faithless" episode 4 (working title "Unfaithless"), "Jenesis: Rejeneration", "Earthless 2", my in-progress jokemegawad "Jimmy and Bimmy's Excellent Adventure", my Christmas-themed homage to Winter's Fury "Merry Shitmas 2: Santa's Fury", "Jenesisless", and "Community Chest 5" - which TheGreenHerring entrusted to me a few years back. Or maybe he didn't. I can't quite remember. Regardless, sorry to shatter your hopes! I sincerely hope you enjoy my final hurrah, which is a Quake map that I had the inimitable MarkieMusic assist with live onstream in mid-2021. I picked it up again and polished it off for release. It may not be much, as there's fewer than 100 enemies and it serves as little more than an introduction to my forthcoming Quake era, but I sincerely hope you enjoy. You'll see my future posts on Slipseer in the coming months as I release more content for my soon-to-be-announced Quake set, entitled "Doomless". This is Jimmy signing off! So long, Doomworld. Download "Outpost 91": Dropbox Mirror To play "Outpost 91": You'll need QuakeSpasm. Download outpost91.zip, and unzip it to the /id1/maps folder in your Quake installation directory. 18. Very nice. There's a death metal song in here somewhere. :D
  19. It's spoilerific to even mention it, and I was considering doing so myself, but suffice it to say, people who enjoyed My House will get a kick out of Chaotic Keep.
  20. Anybody play Dobu's intro map from episode 3 of Joy of Mapping 6? It's a baffling, uncanny experience that apes on the original E3M1, Hell Keep. It made me giggle and exclaim in confusion in equal measure when I first played it.
