I wouldn’t say the sci-fi elements are non-existent. There was a giant space station in there at one point, and those dragon wings don’t look natural to me.

I love the "nu doom lore" so I'm pretty excited about the next game.

Keep in mind if you "smoosh" Sigil II into Ultimate Doom or Sigil I that it makes changes to the Spider Mastermind.

If by "Classic Doom" you mean "Ultimate Doom" then yes, I go for UV Max (not 100% items) because I've played the maps hundreds of times and know where everything is. If by "Classic Doom" you mean including whatever PWAD just came out, then no.

I've been using batch files for so long, at this point in life it would actually be more work and more confusing to switch to a launcher than just doing what I have been doing.

I don't think I can claim to have a best years. They've all been pretty mixed. I expect next year will be one of the better ones as life starts to stabilize after some major changes recently, but who knows.

Well, we would hope so, but BP is worth like $288 billion right now, despite what happened in 2010, and we had congressmen apologize to them for having to pay fines. I don't know how I stumbled onto this wad, but I have been having a blast. I love the look and the gameplay and have spent way too much time trying to beat it now. This makes me want to fire up UDB myself, can't wait to play more of your maps once I finish this set.

With all due respect, people using GZDoom and not just the Unity based Doom officially distributed are already in the power user category these days. Just like a user of vkQuake or Quakespasm vs your officially distributed Quake port. I honestly think this is a pointless argument, Graf Zahl clearly isn't changing it at this point.

I've been using freelook and jumping going all the way back to when I first discovered Doom Legacy in 1998 or 1999 and got a kick out of playing Doom like it was Quake. Does it break maps? Sometimes. Is it more fun for me to play that way? Every time. I've been playing this way for over 20 years, thousands and thousands of hours. If it makes people mad, that sounds like a them problem.
