Okee. I've gone to colege, my art doesn't suck, I have a pro website now... Now what the hell... I'm totally lost here. I was working at an anmation company, but it didnt work out.. (I dont think I wanted to be an animator anyway)
I think illustrating would be nice. I'e illustrated a couple books, but I really want to use my style fully. (Not that children designs arent fun)
Do I need an agent? Does anyone know any? I'm banging my head against a brick wall here.- Show previous comments 28 more

I met some people who are Magic Card artists once. That would be a pretty cool job! Then I could tell all my friends I sort of knew the artist :D
Actualy, I was referring to the D&D stuff. Haven't been paying attention to Magic recently. Man, the best illustrations on any of their products ever were their early Planescape material which was 90% done by DiTerlizzi.
Numbermind: Only if you're an asshole like you. -
Yes, I am an asshole, but that doesn't change the fact that nobody's going to get their dream job without some kind of sacrifice or nepotism. That isn't to say you can't work towards your dream while you're working a shit job-- in fact that's ideal. It's sensible, it'll pay off in the long run, and you learn more about managing your time.
If you keep hacking away at some ridiculous goal that's also what you're depending on to pay the bills, then you're only going to get screwed in the end. You'll get angry and frustrated over money, and you're going to resent what you thought you could do so well. Your "art" would become a chore.
This is the way the world works.

Sitting here using the xbox to play alanis while I eat a very yummy limpton sidekick.
I'm working on my website because.. well.. I've been laid off... *big shakey sigh*
I need the code that prevents people from resizing their window... it screws up my design..
I'm thinking I should make masks... I sold my wolf mask on furbid... I want to get into latex masks..
I'm so down right now.. I don't know if I can get back up again.- Show previous comments 2 more

Never set goals, heh.
Heh, that's always been my motto. Technicaly, I've never failed anything because I never said I'd finish anything.
Anyway, sucks to hear about your job, Silv. Currently I'm in a money pit and my mom is trying to kick me out, so I'm in a bad position too. I can sympathise.

I'm posting alot lately... but hey.. it's blogs... I can blog every day thrice if I want... I was thinking it would be neat to have a collaboration of artists... not doom related even.. but just.. team up in pairs to make pieces.. like someone draw, someone color... or maybe a teamed up comic... any ideas?

Btw: stealing a japanese art style has gone as far back as Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin when they used the japanese print style for their paintings if not further. Nothing new.
Aubrey Beardsley used a style similar to Japanese ink drawings during the late 19th century.
Oh and Anime is likely based off the stylings of the works of Walt Disney.
"Stealing" might not be the correct term to use, morelike influenced. I might argue that alot of people are just copying the current "anime" fanwave. With sites like "How to Draw Anime" and Megatokyo spinoffs sprouting everyone, I don't think too many people are influenced by anime, just merely try to emulate it without developing their own style. -

I'm certainly not a fan of recycled anime.

I do at least 10 doodles a day here at work to keep myself sane. I don't post them usually.. but because I haven't had much time otherwise for art, it may be all there is for a long while.

In 2 weeks I'll finally be bringing home my new baby, Murphy: http://www.doomworld.com/greenpile/Murphy%20009.jpg
He's an african senegal parrot. He has dark eyes now, but will soon have lovely yellow rimmed ones. Senegals are fairly small (cockatiel sized, only heavier with a larger head) They can learn some words and songs and enjoy playing on their backs. They can live up to 30 years or more.
Anyway.. that is all. -
Hey.. just thought I'd show you what my company does :)
We do these silly little shorts about a cartoon critic who goes and watches movies with his friend Joe. We don't write the episodes, we animate from the script and use the voices recorded they send us. Go sign up and vote if you like it :)
I would like to mention that some of the views expressed may or may not be those of my own. (The Mr. Smith episode) Hmm.. we sometimes hide things like goombas in our episodes for the hell of it. Cause we love nintendo... we play it like junkies.
Anyway. First to find the goomba gets a monster concept sketch from me :) Anything you want.

Hmm. Just got all moved into our new place a couple days ago. It's very nice :)
Then last night my computer died.. so I had to format... (I have to do it at least 3 times a year anyway)
Now I can't find the server for the irc doomworld chat. ;P
If only someone could help me out ;)
anyway...
Yeah.

Blah.. we're moving in 3 weeks or so and I'll be happy to finally have a bathroom and kitchen.. my major problem is that I'm very lonely...
I wanted a dog really.. but there's no apartment in the entire city that allows them. So I try for a cat.. cat's are allowed everywhere it seems... one major downfall: LS hates cats...
blah... I thought a bunny might work, but they dont cuddle like friendly kitties do...
I Have half a mind to go out, get a kitten and when LS finally comes home, he'll have to accept it..
Not very fair... but hey.. he's not the one sitting in a tiny room alone for most the day.- Show previous comments 11 more

Get a kitty and make Lost Soul deal with it. You're the woman after all, he ain't got shit without you. That always works on straights....
Hmmm... we and Lost Soul have this thing called fairness and equality going on ;)
But I will discuss it with him some more.
Maybe we can find the perfect pet for us..
