A Windows XP computer without applicable security updates will easily get infected by malware on any sites hosting it. How easily might depend on the age of the disc it was installed from. After installing that OS, you should immediately go to Microsoft's Windows Update site and install all the critical updates.

I remember installing win2000 and being infected with sasser 3 seconds or so after connecting to the network with it. aaaugh.

What is the purpose of this computer anyway? Browsing the internet?

I'd personally just throw some sort of Linux distro on it if you aren't going to do any games.. probably more secure than any amount of security updates Windows receives.

  2. So I turned 18 on friday the 16th... Now this obligatory birthday blog is utterly ridiculous and on the wrong day. And there is pretty much nothing special about it... However, I can now officially get a cannabis club card! Woohoo!!!

  3. I'm exhausted... Woke up this morning and noticed that my eye fucking hurt. I get up, look in the mirror, and see I have a fat pink eye infection. It was all oozy and was very painful. I was pretty pissed off that I got it so I ate some magic mushrooms. Then, 30 minutes later, I popped a pill. Then I left to go do something, then here I am right here 5 - 6 hours later trying to figure out what just happened today, and why my eye looks so much worse. I tripped balls on so many different levels, and had some incredible epiphanies. One was the fact that I had two arms and legs and that I could control them.

Random blog, I know. I just feel like typing stuff because I can and I have nothing else to do. I walked through like 20 different portals at once. My eye still hurts.

Nah it's cool, I probably woulda done the same in your shoes.

I wish I could get back into weights. I was benching about 250lb when I was about 20 (not bad for 5'6") but I gave it up, got skinny, then got lazy. Now here I am at 26 back where I was before I started gym.

Yeah dude it totally fucking is.

250 is not bad for 5'6. I'm a skinny motherfucker, just look at my pics from my rave thread (5'7, wrestled at 135 this year) and bicep curled my own weight. I benched about 245 too, but right now I don't even know. Just doing endurance shit because that helps more for wrestling.

  4. My ear got kind of fucked from wrestling. It's cauliflower ear.

    It's permanent damage.

Thats one big ear. That doesn't look too bad, I was expecting to see far worse than that.

If you have taped up that ear immediately a chance that the skin would reattach to the cartilage is pretty good.

  5. Today, I found out that one of my friends had died last night, while at school, at lunch. He wasn't the closest of friends, but me and my other friends hung out with him every day. Last night, I talked to him, and he seemed as if there was nothing wrong. He asked me to do him a small favor for today, and I thought why make it just a small favor? He was such a kind and generous person and always out of the goodness of his heart did me favors without even asking, so I decided to make the favor a little more of a surprise, and was slightly disappointed he didn't show up to school. No one had any idea that anything was wrong.

However, this kid had a long list of medical problems. He was way overweight, probably about 300 pounds. He had scars on his forehead, from skin cancer at a young age and surgery from removal of a brain tumor. He was not really a bright kid either, most people would not classify him as 'normal'. He had severe asthma, but he never would show signs of it. The poor guy had everything going against him, and he was probably the kindest person any of us knew. He had everything to give to us and expected nothing in return. He was the guy who would make everyone smile.

He died from a severe asthma attack, I don't exactly know what time, but he talked to all of the people he considered his friends last night. I think he knew he was going to die.

I don't even know why I'm writing this, especially here, but I feel like I needed to do something. This is really the first person that is close to me who died. I'm not looking for sympathy or anything, I just felt writing about it. If anyone has something to write about their experiences, feel free to do so.

I am sorry to hear that man :(.

Although I probably can't relate as much, I did have a good friend in High School whom I would talk to somewhat often and was nice to hang around with. He didn't show up to school one day, and I soon learned that he had hung himself. It caught us by surprise, since he didn't seem to be showing any singes of depression that we could detect. You never know what could happen.
