The texturing is basic, but these look quite fun.

    ASSHOLE!!!

    B out of 5.

    Phobos Anomaly Wars

I imagine this would be best for at least 8 players given the sheer size. I like the author's take on WAD distribution, I need to remember his name just to put him in the credits of my next project simply for being so communal in his ideas. Pretty good map for '96, by the way.

    Swarm Deathmatch!

SwarmDMx is still played on many servers, these maps are fraggin' excellent.
16 legendary DM maps that are still played online fairly regularly today (28/3/2014). Maps 13, 14 and 15 are the only 3 I've never seen, yet they look like the best of a great bunch.
Impressive architecture for such an old wad.

I really enjoy maps like this - Atmospheric combination of palette, music and layout. Very memorable material here.
This shell would have been great back then. An interesting download for DOSbox addicts like me, unzip this to your Doom or Doom 2 directory and run DOOMSHELL. It doesnt really have a purpose nowadays unless you want to have a lan game with someone else using the old executables, then it's a freakin' godsend by the looks of things.

Not too bad a map, shame there is no text file or author infor or anything..

    gkpak1.zip

interesting maps, not bad at all
This is an awesome map! Long, and nice on the eyes. The detail and gameplay are just right.

    Abandoned Factory

Where are the damn guns! Great layout, although suffering from "I only put one shotgun and one chaingun". Would be worth sticking a few extra guns in and having a blast on though.
LOL. Not bad for a 1994 sprite edit!

    Dawgw00d.wad

Would have been considered really cool DM maps back then, but the theme is boring as all hell. Very unbalanced at points and far, far too much blue armor. The author disallowing this to be used in compilations has resulted in it being forever lost to time, unlike things from the Dwango series which still get occasional plays all these years later. I wonder how long it's been since someone else booted up this wad, let alone had a match in it..

    bloodbath

Basic blood arena, with a few cool hiding spots off to the side. Small enough to be good for 1v1 yet beig enough to fit 8 players comfortably. I dig it.
    Solid gameplay but BLAND texturing!

    Void

This simply WOW'd me, shows how much more developed Doom mapping had become by 2003. 10 years later and it still highly impressed me. Unquestionable 5 stars.

    Where's the map?

    Lufia.Wad

20 minutes wasted in 1997 becomes 10 minutes wasted in 2013. Interesting to see maps 1-3 have new music, obviously the author got bored with their crappy work after 20 minutes and called it quits. Nothing to see here, a huge oudoor blue room of bleh with other bleh.

    This map kicks ass!

    Midnight Island

"SLENDER DID THE SAME GODDAMN THING N' YOU ALL LOVE IT SO MUCH" - said in Egoraptor voice. I remember the Ghoul fad, used to see these types of maps online all the time for a couple of years there. Pcorf has great maps on /idgames, go play them instead.
I like the look of the one, the little post is cool.

    Operation Hydra

This wont run in v1.666, I can't find a fucking 1.9 executable or proper patcher anywhere on the net, and running a 1.9 WAD with a 1.666 exe causes small issues.. So I had to run this in ZDoom :( However, this is a perfect example of how to push the vanilla engine to it's limit. I had a lot of fun playing this, and it impressed me with brilliant use of 'tricks'.
Makes a great addition to any Doomer's midi library. Map 30 has some pretty cheesey music though, I was shocked by the intro not being slow and creeping like the original Icon music.
