    TOAD DOOM

Damn... Refuses to run on Win7, and doesnt seem to work right even under DOSbox.

The immediate area you start in is by far the worst looking part - Explore around, the appearance is actually alright for 1994 standards aside from the big HOMs. This is fun to play, dont hit the exit switch but instead find your way through the whole thing. Cool little map, very historic.

"Groovy. Swallow this. Come get some. Groovy. Swallow this." You get the idea, an old 90's sound wad. That Groovy sound (or a, edited version of it) has been used in many WADs since. Skip this.

    Thrill Me

A basic but fun looking DM arena, perfect for a 1 on 1. Surprisingly decent rendition of Come Out and Play for the background music.
Brilliant! I've been looking for a DeathTag mapset that works within a modern port's score system and framework. I can't believe I didn't realise SkullTag comes from DeathTag... Now it's so obvious!

Ugh.. this speaks volumes about religious people.. -666/5
That custom texture on all maps but 07 is really ugly, and these are all pretty dated. Good for OS addicts, but even then there was better stuff, even from this era..
This reminds me of a comic I read 10 or more years ago where the Doom 1 and Doom 2 marine were trying to take on the Doom 3 marine, but they couldnt withstand his ultimate weapon: The Triple-Barrel Shotgun.

    The Damned City

Damn, these maps have style, 5 stars for that alone - You'd need at least 4 players for DM to move along at a good pace here though.

As far as entryway remakes go, this one is not so good. In appearance it's not too shabby, but I think deathmatching here would be more tedious than in the real Entryway, and that's saying something. 2 stars because this is not trash by any means, just outdated by over a decade.

You will hardly tell the difference.

    THIEVES.wad

Okay, he says " I personally HATE combo-wads made from other peoples work" and that's exactly what this is.. Once of these maps is from Dwango5. They're all decent, but that description is absurd.

    GOTHMOG.WAD

Another 1994 map inspired by ledges.wad? How many of these things are there?! For being 20 years old, this ain't too bad, though. I had 5 minutes of fun, but a deathmatch would consist of constantly snagging yourself on the walls.

    Pud Whacker!!

There are a few very cool DM maps here, also a few that are duds.

Replaces E1M1, seems pretty good for a duel match.

This will make you appreciate 3D mode a whole lot more.
As basic as basic can be.

    Thesis

Very solid map by Decay, Multi-level combat in a nice dark red/grey hellbrick theme. "thesis" is a funny name because of the description.. Really nice, DL it.

^The comment above was obviously made by one of the authors to toot their own horn. This would probably be seen as a "poor man's Greenwar" even though this is older - Every map is one color, they're all -very- generic in appearance. The layouts are decent, but nothing amazing by any means. 3

Pretty cool early DM map, but it would be really hard to stay on the ledge the whole time. The "floating items" woulda been cool back then, but it looks glitchy and thus pretty dumb. Not too bad overall.

    Pandora2.wad

Better than most of reddawg's DM maps.

    Gimpy1

Dated January 1997. There is not one single line in this whole map that isn't sqare. Boring, repetitive gameplay by the looks of things.

    Xen Level Pack!

Why the hell would someone call this "junk"? They're fun little Skulltag maps (meaning you need the texture and sprite resources) that aren't too shabby at all. That pistol and shotgun sound effects are really, REALLY annoying, but overall I reccomend this to someone looking for a fun little blast. (Played through map03)
I like this map, would fit as an early map in a megawad. One thing I would do is widen some of the hallways and make it so that the yellow key pit kills you if you jump in early (I had to idclip to get out.) The outdoor area is cool, I'd like to see more like that. I'm a big fan of wide open spaces, I feel they're a lot more inviting. Also, that MIDI butchers Big Blue, but that's not Ogre's fault.
